Last Spring I was disappointed at the lack of flowers in the garden. There used to be daffodils, a couple of snowdrops and a tulip but I think I might have dug the bulbs up while trying to root out some weeds. At the time I thought I’d just pop into the garden centre and buy some crocuses in particular, but apparently that’s not how it works and there were none. Today I remembered this and I’ve bought some bulbs. They were all just inside the garden centre like they were expecting me. Planting tomorrow.

I'm really struggling to resist bulb-buying season.
Its always tempting to buy more, all those glossy brochures!
And its such a buzz in the depths of early spring when you suddenly spot a flower that you had forgotten you had put in there.

Not sure what my favourite is ... Thinking too much loveliness to choose from. I have some tiny irises that suddenly show up first, when the garden looks like its never going to do anything. I've never really bothered with crocuses in my own garden as they are always all over the local parks anyway ... but these cute little irises are slightly bigger than crocuses Wub

I've planted a fuck-tonne of snakes-head fritillarias in the last few years, and not a single one has shown up, bastardly things. Brick Wall

I've never planted sunflowers yet, there was always something else more exciting to try and grow instead ... but a packet of sunflower seeds was sent along with the ashes of Dennis the tripod cat, so I am planning to mix them up and bury them with some hollyhock seeds, so it can be a tall-plant corner. Cool Thumbs Up

Set of Sealey Premier torque wrenches

Not Wera but good enough for my occasional tinkering.

And a set of Draper feeler gauges.

An animatronic werewolf (£35 at Asda) which has purple flashing eyes and which howls when you walk past it.

I've cable-tied it to a plant stand so that nobody nicks it.
Even the little old lady next door likes it.

I may call him Zevon.

Connectors, connectors, connectors. Is there some sort of competition between the manufactures to cram in as many styles as possible into a wiring loom?!

Even a "primitive" Royal Enfield loom has three sorts: sealed, 2.8mm and 6.3mm. The latter in some weird arrangements I'd not seen before.

Something not bought: refund notification Sad

Hitchcocks said a very obscure part for my GT was unavailable so I did a search and turned it up at Iron City Motorcycles. Put it on backorder and after a couple of weeks it seems they've given up and refunded me. Now I'm trying Fowlers, see if I get the same result.

The part is the rear lighting bracket. All the paint/powder coat was flaking off but it's that powdery corrosion you get with aluminium. I did my best to go over it with a wire wheel but it's such an awkward shape I dare say the corrosion will creep back. A new one is only £15 if they still have some in India.

Cheap smart watch (Garda Pro Ultra), whether or not it's any good or not I don't know ... it's supposedly got all of the usual features but I don't use them, as long as it tells the time and is reasonably accurate for heart rate I'll be quite happy, especially for £25!

Get someone to scan it and 3D print. If you have the right machine you can even print it in carbon filament. (Poor mans carbon fiber, Laughing )

The bracket ties the lights, numberplate, frame and mudguard together so it'd have to be scanned and cut from billet aluminium with a 5-axis CNC Shocked The ghetto way would be to create a cast and melt down some beer cans Wink

£40 for a USB-C to HDMI.

Far better than the £105 for Thunderbolt 4 to HDMI / DP.

An AMD 7800X3D, MSI X870E Edge TI and 32GB Vengeance DDR5 6000 CL30.

Gonna order a new AIO for it all tonight as my Kraken X73 is 5 years old and has served me well in about 3 different builds now but I fancy a white one to match the board and my case (H7 Flow). I don't understand how it is with PC stuff that 'having a quick look' ends up down a rabbit hole and quite a few quid lighter.

My home PC is basically the previous generation of your list. Previously I'd always gone Intel/Nvidia but I've been pleasantly surprised with how solid it's been. The only wobble being a flaky power supply but I can't blame AMD for that.

Wife is mardy, walked slow and enjoyed it. First night off in in 3weeks.

I've been a bit of an AMD fanboy since my 3600 build back in 2019 to be honest. The fact I went to a 5600X and then a 5800X3D all on the same board was a big deciding factor for me to stick with them. Finally decided to switch to AM5 and let the youngest have my old 5800X3D setup so it's still going to have a few years in it yet.

This new build has been absolutely spot on as well, booted and completed memory training in a minute or so and has run perfectly. Flashed the BIOS and set a CO of -30 on all cores and it's absolutely smashing every game I throw at it, very happy with it.

AliExpress, ordered a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 but got sent the Pico 1 by mistake. Now begins the annoying back and forth with partial refund offers Sad

Also today: an SSD PCI Express card that's clearly second-hand and missing half the parts (heat pads for the M.2 drives) but at least I bought it through Amazon and they're pretty good with returns.

You can get generic boards with Pico chips for less than £2 but I spotted a postage-stamp sized version that looked quite handy. TBH I only stuck it on the order to get free postage, that's how they get you Smile
