Last Spring I was disappointed at the lack of flowers in the garden. There used to be daffodils, a couple of snowdrops and a tulip but I think I might have dug the bulbs up while trying to root out some weeds. At the time I thought I’d just pop into the garden centre and buy some crocuses in particular, but apparently that’s not how it works and there were none. Today I remembered this and I’ve bought some bulbs. They were all just inside the garden centre like they were expecting me. Planting tomorrow.

I'm really struggling to resist bulb-buying season.
Its always tempting to buy more, all those glossy brochures!
And its such a buzz in the depths of early spring when you suddenly spot a flower that you had forgotten you had put in there.
Not sure what my favourite is ... too much loveliness to choose from. I have some tiny irises that suddenly show up first, when the garden looks like its never going to do anything. I've never really bothered with crocuses in my own garden as they are always all over the local parks anyway ... but these cute little irises are slightly bigger than crocuses
I've planted a fuck-tonne of snakes-head fritillarias in the last few years, and not a single one has shown up, bastardly things. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Set of Sealey Premier torque wrenches
Not Wera but good enough for my occasional tinkering.
And a set of Draper feeler gauges.

Connectors, connectors, connectors. Is there some sort of competition between the manufactures to cram in as many styles as possible into a wiring loom?!
Even a "primitive" Royal Enfield loom has three sorts: sealed, 2.8mm and 6.3mm. The latter in some weird arrangements I'd not seen before. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Something not bought: refund notification
Hitchcocks said a very obscure part for my GT was unavailable so I did a search and turned it up at Iron City Motorcycles. Put it on backorder and after a couple of weeks it seems they've given up and refunded me. Now I'm trying Fowlers, see if I get the same result.
The part is the rear lighting bracket. All the paint/powder coat was flaking off but it's that powdery corrosion you get with aluminium. I did my best to go over it with a wire wheel but it's such an awkward shape I dare say the corrosion will creep back. A new one is only £15 if they still have some in India. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

The bracket ties the lights, numberplate, frame and mudguard together so it'd have to be scanned and cut from billet aluminium with a 5-axis CNC The ghetto way would be to create a cast and melt down some beer cans ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

AliExpress, ordered a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 but got sent the Pico 1 by mistake. Now begins the annoying back and forth with partial refund offers
Also today: an SSD PCI Express card that's clearly second-hand and missing half the parts (heat pads for the M.2 drives) but at least I bought it through Amazon and they're pretty good with returns. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

You can get generic boards with Pico chips for less than £2 but I spotted a postage-stamp sized version that looked quite handy. TBH I only stuck it on the order to get free postage, that's how they get you ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
