Well! ... My gears are well and truly ground today!

Not only have I just dropped my newish (less than 2 months old) in the toilet out of the back pocket of my jeans ... (I never learn!)

BUT

I was right on the point of "letting go" - so that in my desperation to try and rescue the phone, I managed to piss not only all over myself but on my jeans, knickers and the bathroom floor Brick Wall Brick Wall Brick Wall

There was a pair of socks sitting on the basin shelf so I quickly (whilst standing there in a puddle of piss with no pants on and wet legs ... Rolling Eyes ) wrapped the phone inside the socks in the vain hope of drying it quickly enough to save it.

When I sat on the toilet seat in frustration from having wet feet, the seat was also wet due to my splashing about rescuing the phone.

And of course, the phone appears not to have withstood its intrepid journey into the dunny. Rolling Eyes

So I'm off to Amazon to buy another one.
Good thing I don't pay stupid money for an up to date phone.
Usually about £120 max.

Get the battery out and bung the phone and battery in a bag of rice and leave for a day or two. It 'might' dry out sufficiently to work again - failing that you've saved yourself the first two steps in preparing dunny-piss risotto..

Effin’ Facebook. I know it’s for old folk these days and I stay on it to keep tabs on a small number of acquaintances who’d probably vanish from my life otherwise, and without consequence. Maybe I should let them go. Still, I stick around.

Search for something on the web and it’s immediately reflected in Facebook stories or ads. I even suspect Facebook listens in to verbal conversations in the presence of the device because of the way subsequent posts crop up.

Now I’m lured to respond to the rash of political posts from gobby unknowns who don’t share my political views; I wonder if Facebook is indulging in socio-political engineering and I’m on their wrong side. The left wing Facebook groups have begun to require some kind of pledge to join and comment, otherwise your view isn’t heard.

What a sad world. I feel I’ve let my nieces down by allowing such censorship and bias in the 21st century but what could I do?

Edit: make a post on the aforementioned sites and they’ll allow it if they think there’s a critical response their affiliates can make, but make a point they can’t invalidate and it won’t be allowed.
