Yeah, takes a bit of detectiving sometimes.
I've managed to transfer a couple of small ones that had got buried in my work history, so its just a matter of perseverance.

Nothing much is grinding my gears.
This in itself is mildly gear-grinding.

I'm not sure but I might end up on a redundancy list if my trust's corporate justification exercise goes against me, last-in-first-out stylee. Not as if I haven't been there, done that at this age.

But if not, then I only have a few more years anyway. Meh. I suppose I could temp in governance for a bit. Whatevs, not really that grindy. Laughing

Redundancy, starting Wednesday, tomorrow is my last day.

In some ways I'm fairly happy with it, I'm getting a reasonable deal and it's kicking me up the backside to look for something else, but I REALLY liked this job, and I've been there very nearly 8 years.

Honestly? Linear broadcast is dying anyway, and there are other reasons that I am glad it's happening. I suspect now is the last scheduled stop on the good ship Titanic before it hits a huge metaphorical iceberg and sinks without a trace... Plus I get a bit of time off over the summer, and I won't miss the London commute. It's a good time to pivot into information security. I hold a certification and have been doing security risk assessments for 3.5 years, as well as my other duties.

All that said, I will miss a lot of the people who have been part of my career for 23+ years, and I think I will miss the industry, it's a shadow of what it once was, but it was a lot of fun and I never got bored. I have no idea if I can say the same about my new industry, whatever that may be, precisely.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
