Brand new i would imagine it would be deristricted... but an indicated 95 seems a little high, my NSR would only indicate about 85 if i was pushing it,

Probably unrestricted.. your speedo may be out. Infact just about every speedo is out either + or - 7mph or so. Sad

So no worries. But dont push the 2 stroke motor at its top end too much. We all know about Aprilia's being a little sensitive!

Sounds de-restricted. At the moment mines restricted and can't get much more than 70 out of her. Would'nt the garage you bought her from be able to let you know if you get on the ol' dog & bone to them?

did you run the bike in properly? these bikes need at least 1600km before you cane it!
your bike will either have 12bhp or 33bhp
trust me, you'll know if its restricted or not.
Also, those speedos lie like a conversation between Geoffery Archer and Tony Blair, so don't believe all you see

Indicating 95 means that it is definately derestricted (edit - unless your speedo is way out). I wouldn't expect you to see much more than 105, 110 max indicated. You'll be pushed to see much beyond a real 95mph from what I can gather.

RS125's do not make 33bhp as standard, more like 28 or so.

If it were restricted to 14.6bhp, 70-75 would be the most you'd see from it.

No. Indicated 95mph. That MUST be restricted because derestricted, The RS125 can do 170mph. Laughing

Nah, Seriously though, If you bought it new, then I assume its probably restricted, but dont expect more than a true 100mph when you get it derestricted.

It will probably indicate around 120mph derestricted, but will not be moving more than 100mph.

Also, once you are going faster than about 50mph, the speedo completely goes crazy and lies its ass off. Wink

I agree with Binge, However, I am not going to rate his post, as I think red karma suits him better, more manly y'see. Very Happy

On a serious note, I would've thought you would know if your bike is derestricted, i.e; does it go absolutely apeshit when it hits the powerband?

I would've thought fuel consumption would give you a vague idea aswell, and unless you change the sprockets, top speed will be the same.

Trust me, you'd know if it's derestricted. ( probably from the loud bang that follow .... Rolling Eyes )

Thumbs Up
