Hi there pretty hard to get at that nut so the best thing to do is to try a proper penetrative fluid. Find your local bike shop that stocks Wurth products and buy a can of 'rost off'. spray a load of this on and leave for 20 mins. Should do the trick. Otheriwse take the wheel and adjuster plate out and get a punch in there to free the bugger off. Damned italian metals eh!

Good luck!

Have you tried using 3in1 Penetrating oil and so you leave it over night to allow it to penetrate the threading.

You could try extending the leverage on the spanner with a tubular bar which will give you more turning power, but I would do the penetrating oil first before attempting it.

When you do get it off smear the threading with copper grease to prevent future seizing of the nut on the thread. You can buy that copper grease at Halfords or any good motorcycle dealer.

Hi

Is the lock nut undone?

I would suggest spraying loads of proper penetrating oil oil on them and leaving them for a bit. Then hold the back of the bike up and take the back wheel out. This should mean that you can take all the adjuster blocks out of the way then use a socket on the bolts from directly behind.

And do as ZRX61 says use a 6 point socket.

All the best

Keith

Hi. Have you got a nut splitter? Or perhaps you could use a blow torch to heat the nut. Also you could try mole grips

Hi

Not space for a nut splitter there. Using a blow torch will wreck the finish in a fairly obvious place. Mole grips would be too bulky to get a decent grip and damage the bolt so that you would not be able to use a socket.

All the best
