Hi

Many years ago I rode from Liverpool down to Winchester on a 125 (derestriction Honda MBX125, as a learner so no motorways). Not a problem. Stopped at a friends near Banbury for most of the afternoon mucking round on his farm (trying to get 30mph out of a CB50). Not a problem really.

Also used to ride from Nottingham down to Winchester and back most weekends on a 125 using A and B roads when I first moved up to the Midlands.

All the best

Keith

The furthest I have gone is about 180 miles on a 125. The only thing I would recommend is as you have planned, take plenty of rest breaks. Don't push yourself too hard, see it as fun rather than a mission to get there as quickly as you can. How long do you think it will take you? It took me 6 hours to get 180 miles Embarassed but then I did stop for a meal on the way.

remember to stock up everything before you go give the bikes a good service because they will need it doing that distance!

Take a flask of hot coffee. You'll epreciate when you start to get a bit chilly!

just take regular breaks and you'll be fine!

good luck! and enjoy it!

The good thing about taking A and B roads is there will be lots of twisttys lots more fun than monotonus motorway riding

That's one hell of a journey on a 125. Make sure you stay over somewhere nice the night you get there. You'll deserve it.

Hope to god they don't go pop!Best of luck to you both.

i dont wana sound like a nagging mother but make sure you take some kind of drink with you because you will get very de-hydraited if you dont wwhich = lack of concentration

and lack of concentration on a bike = very big bill aswell as the possobility of a legnthy stay in hospital!

There are things called service stations. Amazing places, you can buy petrol as well so you don't have to carry 30L in one go.

I've managed 220 miles on a 125 before. 5 hours, 3 stops. Took me 30 minutes longer than my dad in a car on the same route.

Long trips on 125's suck. If i ever have to do it again i'm taking out breakdown cover and get them to 'recover' me to my destination.
