dont like the sound of the MZ no offence.
why could the superdream be a nightmare?? would a older nsr be reliable as i recon a superdream would be.
oh it might have to last a bit longer, maybe more like 5-6 years, just a little bit longer |

if you can, find a cb250n - they have a small front fairing that would help keep the wind out of your face.
i would go for the cb250, slightly better in the long run |

Hi
Years since I rode a 250 Superdream. Also known as Wetdream or Nightmare.
Performance wise a derestricted 125 would leave it for dead, and it would top out at about 90 at best.
They are a good solid bike and will cruise well sitting at a constant speed. Handling is OK in a stable kind of way.
Reliability was OK. Cam chains go. Cams seize in the head if you do not change the oil (every 1800 miles). Forks rot. Wiring rots. You will be looking at a 22 year old bike at best. Expect to find seized brakes, dodgy shots, seized bolts, rotton seat bases, etc.
No Superdreams had a fairing as standard (and the CB250N was was just a Superdream).
If you want a simple 250 that is worth having then find a CBX250RS, the late 4 valve single, but these are quite rare.
All the best

supedreams were shit when they were new and they aint got any better with age.
you can get a good already restricted 400 or something like a GS500E (cracking beginers bike) for under a grand.
Shop around and dont jump in at the first you see, you'll find plenty of bikes out there that area lot better than those you've mentioned.
Theres a website for greybikes that gives good info on a lot of the import 400's just cant remember it name
you might also want to look at some offroad bikes as you can get full power versions upto 400cc (xr250 or dr350 highly reccomended)that are still below 33bhp and they are brilliant bike to own and ride |
