U-Turn disaster

So how many of you have dropped your bike doing a u-turn?

And how many did it 2 months after passing their test ? Sick

I had to do a u-turn in a road with a bad camber, where as most people would be sensible and keep a foot down,
I decided to be a good little boy and keep both feet up Laughing

Then realised the camber was a lot worse than I had thought,
tightened the turn and ooops. Embarassed

Result: Smashed indicator light and red face. Embarassed

Current bike has sod all steering lock and is a heavy bitch so i normally keep at least 1 foot down.

Slow riding and covering the brake just makes you more unstable unless your good at doing it. Now i just give it a squirt of power and roll round on momentum.

Dropping a bike isnt much to be worried about, most have done it, all will do it at some point.

It's worth keeping some spare levers and indicators at home just to be safe Thumbs Up

Secret is Both feet up, don't use front brake use the back try not to tense up and most importantly look where you are going ahead, not at the road below (or you will fall off).

Try it on a quiet car park, a bit of practice and it will come natural.

Never fell off in 22years of riding doing a U turns.

Not sure I've done many U-turns since my test... prefer a 3 pointer. Smile

i have to do a u turn on ym road

its like a two lane dually so u have to loop to change, its really hard on a sports, i hate it

other than that i go with bendys why bother with a u turn a 3 point is good enuff!!

i've never dropped it doing a U-y yet, i had a habit when first riding of forgetting the stand wasn't down and giong to lean it over onto the stand then looking like a tit as i struggled to keep the bike from falling over!!

The new bike is a heffer of a bike think i'll avoid doing U turns on it, at least till i'm in tune with new riding posistion/style etc

Yep, in spain was riding a 250cc big assed 2 seater scooter, went to do a U-turn and the engine cut out (low fuel). So i had to pull this bigass scooter up from banking into it...almost lost it

I do not do U turns unless the there is enough space to turn a 747 Laughing

, I never was much good, and I do not see the need to worry about feet after the test

I've dropped it twice doing a U-ey.

Once my front brake decided it wanted to seize on at that particular moment.

And the second time, I touched the front brake because a car was coming. It started to tip, and it was just too heavy, my only option was to lay it down slowly. Heart breaking.

Then of course it pisses its contents of oil on the floor out of the overflow.
