You need to get the back wheel off the ground. Bodge it if need be. (Milk crates or something).
You need to break the chain, (normally there's a split link (it looks different to all the others)) Just slide the little clip out and that link will fall out.
Gaz's tip for the day, attach one end of the new chain to one end of the old chain, and pull it through. Saves you messing with getting it around the front sprocket later.
You'll need to get the back wheel off, nut on each side. DO NOT USE ADJUSTABLE SPANNERS as early recommended. An adjustable is for an emergency, and that's assuming halfords is shut at the time and there's no option of borrowing a spanner.
You may have to take the back disk caliper off, couple of nuts, and give it a gentle persuading smack upwards (depends how worn the disk is) (also depends if you have a disk....)
Then unbolt the sprocket, bolt the new one on.
Easy job TBH.
If you've got a manual it'll be simple, just hope you've got the tools.
Don't use the wrong tool, you'll damage something.
