Want to test ride a KTM?

KTM have a big test ride day on Saturday, so if you fany riding one of their bikes, find your nearest dealer (by looking here) and give them a call.

I found that my nearest dealer is about 10 miles away and gave them a call wanting a ride on the new Super Duke. I was expecting them to say "You must be joking, it's booked out all day" but surprisingly it wasn't.

So, at 12pm on Saturday I have a 990cc Super Duke for 30-40 mins Twisted Evil

All I need to do is turn up with my licence and a utility bill. I will also get entered into a competition whereby I have a 1-in-400 chance of winning one (apparently). Can't be bad Thumbs Up

Test ride report will follow, on Sat afternoon.

Can you just turn up and ride then?

I went to an open day once at an un-named garage and they would still only let you test ride after you had sat down and gone through all the paper work of buying one and they had to see you as seriously wanting to buy one. I didn't want to buy the bike in question right away, especially without a test ride.

Are the KTM open days better than this? Can you simply turn up and have a go, license permitting and see if it sways you?

You need to book, so it's not an "open day" as such. I'm not sure what chance you'll have if you just turn up out of the blue and say "Giz a go on that mate".

They didn't say anything about paperwork, just that I'll have the bike from 12pm for 30-40mins. Just need to take my licence and a utility bill (something with my address on).

I presume you'd need to have third party only on any bike to let them have a go? Colin Collins is just a stones throw away from my college and i really want to try the 640 LC or the 640 Duke.

Erm, 2 stroke, 4 stroke.. BIG difference Rolling Eyes

2 strokes usually take more abuse if you give it to them... and are cheaper to maintain/fix usually.. .. 4 strokes are a different ball game..!

Right, which do you see survive best/longest, AR125's or CG125's?

And yes 4 strokes are more expensive to fix, but taaaaaaaaaaake ages to die... usually.
