It can be painful running in a RS125 esp if you're used to a full power one, I had to keep mine below 6k rpm for about 500miles they said. Old one legged men on pushbikes were overtaking me, But it is something that's better done on a 2stroke.

Although I got to about 200miles and took it upto 10-11k in short bursts, Then let all hell loose at about 300-400miles.

Running in bikes are a pain aren't they?

Keeping the Bandit under 6,000 RPM is quite hard.

No. Still running mine in and it's fairly nippy Wink

Take it up to 6000 rpm but don't keep it in the same rev range for long periods of time, you shouldn't stress the engine, vary the revs. You can accelerate fairly briskly but no full power starts. Get yourself out for a weekend and do it in chunks on some nice quiet B roads where you won't get hassled.

If you don't need the restrictor then don't put it in, it will just make the whole thing seem even more horrible. You just need to be patient and get at least a couple of hundred miles out of the way, then give yourself a few more revs to play with to keep yourself happy, not too many though.

It will be over in no time and you'll have at least another 10k till rebuild time. Shocked Wink
