Fitted the crash bung to the left side of the ZXR4. Put one on the right side and it laughs at you. The bung doesn't fit into the recess where the engine bolt fits and the screw won't go all the way in. After a while it begins to turn the opposite way. I think maybe the bolts/bungs should be different on each side for this model?

Also, they sent them to the wrong Hein Gericke, so I had to wait another week for HG to send them on.

Middle Finger Middle Finger Middle Finger Middle Finger

EDITED title.

Confusing. I've fitted them on a couple of GSXRs and seen them fitted on an R1, 955i, CBR400 and CBR600 ... all fitted fine.

Does the ZXR400 require any spacers on either side? Question Confused

and lo! it is written on the holy R and G box.

"Thou shalt notice that this product may not be packed as it should be fitted to thy motorcycle!"

And the Holy R and G said:

"Thou shalt read the installation instructions provided on their holy web site!"

Actually it doesn't help does it?

and people wonder why I shun organised religion! Rolling Eyes

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

My pack with CBR4 gullarm had the wrong size bolts in, and the instuctions were wrong.

There is a different length bolt for each side on mine, that's how it is. Thumbs Up

Phoned R&G and they sent me the proper length ones, next day.

Probably wrong length bolt like in my pack. Ring them now and they'll tell you everything you need to know in a matter of seconds. Don't bother trying again as you might mess up the thread, and that sucks!!!

They were very helpful when I had issues with mine.

(mine said Cbr4 gull. on the pack and on the instructions yet they were both completely wrong!) Laughing

Put the original bolts back in as no one is answering the phone (prob close early on a Saturday).

On the left side of the bike the engine bolt is in a recess and the bung fits in with room to spare. Cool

On the right side of the bike the recess is smaller. About 24mm, the exact same size as the part of the bung that should fit in the recess. Evil or Very Mad

Both bungs and bolts are identical to each other. I'm guessing that the right side bung should have a smaller 'collar'? I seem to have 2 lefts. Confused

Anyone else here got R&G's on their ZXR4?

Sounds like you might be right. The ones I've fitted (as well as their fork protectors etc) have slightly different lengths/sizes for right/left.

Cheers dude! Smile Here's hoping.

Now the right engine bolt won't come out! Evil or Very Mad It's turing but not coming out. The thread in the nut must be f*cked. Evil or Very Mad So when I eventually get it out I can fit the bung.

There's always something!!! Evil or Very Mad

I wanted to be riding the bike today not fixing things. Thumbs Down

When I fitted mine to the 600 the right engine bolt wouldn't move at all. Until I went to Halford's and unleashed a 24" wrench on it Twisted Evil

I'd suggest prop the bike up on an abba stand or the like as the engine could move out of postion if you take the engine to frame bolts out. I've had to do this to the storm for the same reason.
