Hi

Front or back?

In either case I think they just have a pair of spade connectors and it should not matter which way round these are connected. As such I would suspect the short is somewhere else.

All the best

Keith

It aint shorting anywhere else because i put the back light on last night and it worked perfectly but now i forgot which way the wires go. All other electrics is working but if i press the brake then it will blow the fuse again.

I badly need a diagram.

Hi

There are just 2 wires that go to the pressure switch on the rear brake master cylinder. Pressing the back brake just connects these 2 wires together, and as such it does not matter which way round they connect to the switch.

As the fuse is blowing when you press the brake then that suggests that the wires is shorting to ground somewhere between the brake light switch and the tail light. For example it could be that the wire from the front brake light is disconnected and touching something that is earthed.

All the best

Keith

the brake light has 2 wires and a 3rd which is the earth wire so if the earth was in the wrong position this would cause it to short.

That is why the earth has to be in the correct position so i need to know where to put it.

I appreciate all your help kickstart, cheers

Take photo's next time mate, what ever you do for the first time, take photos and then annotate them. Sounds lame but it certainly helps you out later.

Hi

Ah, right. It is the brake light at the bulb that you have disconnected. I will check for you tonight if nobody else lets you know first. However with a multimeter take the bulb out and check for a circuit between each of the contacts and the metal contact in the bulb holder (where it pushes on the side of the bulb). This one will be the earth.

All the best
