You probably need to improve your flexibility and stick your leg out further and hang off further. It probably won't make you any more likely to go any faster though. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

houlsby, are you sure you've got your body position right mate? For me: left cheek needs to be where right cheek would normally be, right foot is on the ball on the end of the peg, with foot rotated inwards so heel ends up touching the bike, right leg gets pushed outwards and backwards - and I'm usually doing around 40mph at my local roundabout before it touches down.
If you're sure you've got all the above sorted and it's still not touching down, try giving the right bar a nudge and counter steer over that little bit more, it may be all you need! ____________________ My Bikepics page

Yep, thats about right , You should be hooking your leg into the cut out part of the tank (where it narrows between your thighs) and using that to hold yourself on.
| houlsby wrote: | when im hung off my feet feel awquad |
Thats about right too....
Try riding with the balls of your feet on the pegs, instead of the instep, it allows you to pivot your heel in easier and pushes your knee out naturally.
I know you can't see my knee down foot with this photo, but look at the position of my left foot, and where it is on the peg.

The easiest way to learn is to get someone to teach you and give you pointers at the time, otherwise you don't know where you are going wrong.
If you are ever in my area, shout and I'll teach you, but there must be someone around you somewhere that posts on here that can do it too. ____________________ You will become my force of retribution. Where you tread, doom will follow. Go now and claim your destiny |

I know it's still a bit dark, but I've lightened it as much as I can. Hopefully, this'll give you an idea of how far you need to hang off and if you look closely, you can just about see my foot position. Knee down is possible without leaning the bike quite as far, it's just that my leg isn't very stretchy! ____________________ My Bikepics page

having never got my knee down either I still look at pictures like that and can't believe it is possible to make a bike do that! It looks like it's against the laws of gravity or something ____________________ "The problem with the French is they have no word for 'entrepreneur' " George W Bush

Same problem here.
Final piece of chicken left the rear tyre tonight. Still no KD.
Feel like I'm horizontal in corners now.
Guess i just need to shift my arse! ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

Not just that, but the leg position too mate.
Try to keep the left leg and arm locked in to the tank. Another thing I found that helped is dropping my right shoulder into the turn. Just made things feel a bit more natural. I still do that now if I find myself a bit too rigid. Just drop the right shoulder and counter steer a little bit more... ____________________ My Bikepics page
