knee down help!

been riding since september now. trouble is i can take corners fast but cant get a knee even near the ground! i feel like im goin to fall off everytime i get hung off properly and when im hung off my feet feel awquad ect as if im gunna bin it! really really could do with some help tbh otherwise its gunna be cali bike school when i done test! my sliders are almost brand new!

You probably need to improve your flexibility and stick your leg out further and hang off further. It probably won't make you any more likely to go any faster though.

houlsby, are you sure you've got your body position right mate? For me: left cheek needs to be where right cheek would normally be, right foot is on the ball on the end of the peg, with foot rotated inwards so heel ends up touching the bike, right leg gets pushed outwards and backwards - and I'm usually doing around 40mph at my local roundabout before it touches down.

If you're sure you've got all the above sorted and it's still not touching down, try giving the right bar a nudge and counter steer over that little bit more, it may be all you need!

What bike are you on? it does make a difference.

But to start off with you need to be doing 30-40mph and hanging off like a monkey.

I know it's still a bit dark, but I've lightened it as much as I can. Hopefully, this'll give you an idea of how far you need to hang off and if you look closely, you can just about see my foot position. Knee down is possible without leaning the bike quite as far, it's just that my leg isn't very stretchy! Wink

Same problem, Ive got zero chicken strips left on the back, Ive scraped pegs and everything. The damn knee wont reach the deck no matter what I do, Im about five ten and ride a CBR600. Starting to think it might be bloody impossible Crying or Very sad

Final piece of chicken left the rear tyre tonight. Still no KD.
Feel like I'm horizontal in corners now. Very Happy

right so.... for a right turn its left cheek where right sould be... ball of feet, lock leg stick other out. is it sposed to feel like ur goin to bin it? had a bit of a moment before i started the post, think i hit some shit in the road, i was nearly down but it powerslided out of the corner an i shit it! Shocked

If your pegs touch down, you've leant far enough!

My pegs went down before my knee did, that's a good starting point though, once they go down, you know it's all about hanging off from there on in.

ok like you are out of control then? just feels really wierd and unstable if you get me? like you are guin to jump off at any moment? ( im a bit scared of coming off since i crashed with head rolling bout a foot behind a 4x4 wheel)
