and passed Dance! Angelic Praying

Got four minors for stuff such as not giving a signal when pulling away and for going a bit wide entering a road, other than that fine. Cacking me pants when I got back to the test centre as I thought I'd failed because at one point I misheard the bloke when he said park up after the next left car and I turned left instead Rolling Eyes and I also left the bike in 1st when I turned it off before pushing it around on the u-turn bit and he said at the time about leaving it in neutral. Was also a few bits where I pulled away in 2nd and had to rev the bollocks off it a bit. Would'nt have got away with that though if I'd done me test on the rs.

Time to have a butchers around for a nice 03 Ninja me thinks Thinking

Nah, you should be fine mate. Tbh, after I did my CBT last November I really only got to go out on the rs at weekends so did'nt have that much practice before the DAS. Well worth having a few lessons though.

1st post i know...

But bollacks to buying a 125, i rode a scooter from 16 - 17, then got saving, now im 18 i did 3 days training and passed my test with 4 minors last thursday. I had never ridden a geared bike before, and all for £440, no point getting a 125.

Very Happy

Save your money.

Im now looking for a zxr400. Very Happy

Yeah I see what you mean there Chris. If it was any other 125 what I had (have Rolling Eyes ), such as a CG125 which is one of the slower 125's I'd probably be tempted to wait and get a larger bike. Mind you some 125's bought 2nd hand you can sell on for pretty much the same price a few months later so they can be quite good for practice on.

Might even keep the rs though as a second bike as I was razzing it back from Poole quay tonight through some country lanes and it felt fucking fantastic for a 125. Jut need to get it de-restricted now Razz

Reading your 1st post, my instructor/examinor said 1st gear for the push around before the u-turn was fine.

I also didnt do any country lane work, and had to go round the block twice for the E-stop, as when i 1st approached him he was busy talking to me instructor who was following us, that i had passed, my test was only 20 or so mins in Chelmsford.

Nice and easy Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Very Happy

Hey hey! Nice one Stu!! Great feeling isn't it??

I started on a ZXR400 'cos I couldn't afford 600 insurance. I reckon 400s are underestimated! It was amazingly flickable and wasn't lacking in the power department according to my needs at the time! I've now got a CBR600RR and it's my 3rd bike. I've heard of people jumping straight on one of those after passing their test and I think they're nuts! That's over 100bhp in novice hands!! (no disrespect intended)

I know you're only as fast as your throttle hand, but it only takes an inexperienced involuntary action to pull the throttle to the stop, followed by panic about what to do with that sudden burst of speed.

But hey, whatever you choose to buy mate, best of luck with it and watch for those damn car drivers! They really ARE out to kill us!! Shocked

Congrats mate...

It's the best feeling in the world, like being released from those "L" Plate chains!

Get a bike, be careful and enjoy the experience!
