(this is what this will look like ithout the faring on)

Pretty sure i now own the oddest/uglyest looking bestie on here..

Dosn't come accross very well in the pics but with the side panels back on the colour scheme all matches up... no space to take better pics yet.

May or may not keep the faring on, undecided Very Happy its going to be great for touring/winter

Bit crusty arround the edges but wont take much to get it into top condition again, engine is in bootiful condition though which is the main thing.

So what do ye all think? (passes out sick bag just in case)

Without fairing looks very classy. If keeping fairing then apply novel colour scheme - Repsol race rep, for example, could look quite fun.

hehe gimme them wheels bitch Twisted Evil

remove every fairing and it'll look really nice:

you could fit quick release bonnet pins to the fairings so it only takes 20 seconds to bolt them onto the bike when you need them (wind and rain or a long journey). People do that with car bumpers.

Mmm, Windjammer fairing. Retro chique and high smugness factor due to toasty warm knees in the winter. Thumbs Up

Certainly looks like a Vetter one, they usually have a sealed-beam headlight in them too...which is a jolly nice thing to have.

I know this is going to sound weird but all respect to Zero for his purchase. He knew what he wanted and he went for it.

I'd love a quick go just to see the effectiveness of the fairing actually.

Have fun Zero! Thumbs Up Smile

sorry, going to sound a dumbass here, what exactly is sealed beam headlight and why are they better? do they have better reflectors or something?

marjay- going to get me some jip from my friends i'd expect but i don't mind, can't wait to get back on a cx again, nice squashy comfort and handling thats a bit more interesting... definitely got my moneys worth in caracter Very Happy

Did its first oil change today and was remminded of how much of a pain in the ass farings can be Razz
Would quick release faring bolts be applicable here? many of the bolts seem to be longer than they need to be for some reason...
The nut the bolts go into are square nuts that are just fillered onto the faring Very Happy

A sealed beam headlight has the reflector and lens made as one unit with the bulb filament sticking into the back of it. Rather than the conventional ones (from that era) where you remove the lens to get at the bulb. Most bikes have sealed beam lamps on them these days but older bikes like the CX would not.

Gives a more focused and efficient beam pattern ie. more light and pointing where you want it for the same wattage.

planning on adding fogs again for winter so it wont really matter that much Very Happy
