soz this is a bit late, just got in from...erm...driving my bike!!!

today i had a mixed experience, i got up and went to the Post office to get tax and opened at 9, that why didnt get up really early. i drive to petrol station and got fuel and went off. the CDI restricton really effects it as im runing it in so cant go past 6000rpm and was stoping a 5000 and was really hard to get any more revs and if opend the throttle to much it would jerk a bit...not good!

went at only about 50 as this was the fastest it would do without going past 6000rpm and i got to college and the common room looks out on the carpark and was able to park it pride of place!!! Very Happy a few of my frends came to check it out and leanne tried to work out was all the buttons did,,,,,and failed!!lol.

The rest of day was good etc etc....and got to end of day and went out to bike and warmed it up to 60 degrees and set off, went on the roundabout and was on a stright and was in about 5th and lost all power!! Sad Sad Sad pulled to the side and looked down:

i had left the choke on!!i had completly flooded the engine and was well pissed off! took about 10 mins of no choke and open throttle (as manual said) and left it couple of mins and it started, was well annoyed by this point and went off and my gear changes were pritty crap and forgetting things like closing throttle when shifting so revs would shot up to 10000rpm and scare the shit out of me!! i got to a junction and stalled and was relly feeling shit about it and the lack of power that i had and was on a down Sad Sad just as i started going again a really sexy R1 (my favorite bike) went past and gave me a nod! i know its a really small thing but made remember that this bike is so much better than my ped and started to feel much better!

the ride home was quite bad but was still a laugh!! i stalled on two roundabout and just started laugh as im sure everyone else did!!lol

just went out again for a ride and was sop much smother and have got the hang off using clutch so can keep the revs up!! got in about 10mins again and started writing!!

i did 128KM today and was fun! i love my bike and cant wait till its ran in!! only 350KM to go!...hope i didnt go on to much either!

The stalling was probably caused by flooding the engine. May not say it but id be tempted to try and kick the bike over a few times as well.

And if you do stall when approaching a junction or whilst at one (particularly a roundabout from a dual carriageway) then get your bike to the side as quickly as possible. It would be all too easy for someone to go straight into the back of you and push you into the roundabout and you would have NO way to get out of the way, bar jumping which you may not do due to panicking. So move to the side then start the bike back up. Thumbs Up

Hope you have a good few rides in the next few days and enjoy the sun

Doesn't hurt to go down a carpark for half an hour and just practice your clutch control.

Enjoy it. Thumbs Up

I'm a believer in thrashing it during running in period and more power. Twisted Evil even if it only lasts a week

Given RS125 pistons at the best of times though, I think you're safer doing it the way you have been.

If you are worried about stalling just give it loads and loads of revs while pulling away. When you get used to it you figure out how little revs you can pull away safely with. By playing about with the numbers on my clutch lever I used to be able to get up to 15mph without touching the throttle, just using the clutch Razz . I Probably shouldnt do that though as I doubt its good for the clutch)

Good to hear you're enjoying the bike. We all have to learn at some point, so dont worry about stalling and silly little things like that, wont take long at all before you master it, a few hours riding should do the trick. As Bendy said, pop down to a quiet car park and just play around with the clutch control. Thumbs Up

Good to hear you're taking it easy as well, a good proportion of 17 year olds in your position would want to thrash the bike to hell! Laughing

Oh yeah, Happy birthday. Mr. Green

Ride safe. Smile

Do you mean de-restricted? In that case, its pretty simple to do but its also easy to bugger it up. I guess you've read the how to on the RS125 zone. Shows how everything is done. Personally, if I was de-restricting mine, I'd buy a replacement off ebay first and chop that one up rather than your own. Seen them go on ebay for around £10, will do the trick. Thumbs Up

Just a little advice which might save you a few days off the road if something happens to your own. Razz
