I just bought myself a 2004 Yamaha YZF-R6!!! FINALLY! The painful side of it is that I can't ride it yet as I've not passed my test (booked for the 9th pass date) and I had to leave it in the showroom as it may tempt me being in the garage
The wait is going to be long, but well worth it! And here's a pic!!!

Very nice, good luck with the test
Serious suggestion - while you're waiting to take your test, get yourself over to R & G and buy some engine-mount crash bungs.
I've got them fitted on my bike and they will likely save you a fortune in the event of a low-speed off. Just in case, you know? ____________________ Power Ranger |

Hey, thanx guys! Yep Joe, me and a couple of mates r riding down to Boxhill soon enuff, maybe c u there! Ill be the one wif an SV650S, CBR600F Sport and a Ninja ZX-6R!
I rode a CBR6 a while back so I know the power of this lovely machinery and hope everything goes well with the test
Unless I have to saw the fairing I will put some crash bungs on. I realise the cost of some repairs and replacement panels as I replaced the whole fairing on my RS! However, the whole set only cost me £40... off my m8, lol! Selling the Aprilia RS125 in July if any1 is interested!
Oh Yea, NEVER buy Suzuki SV crash bungs, the bracket is curved, and when u fall off, the bracket just bends and then the road scratches up half your fairing anyway, my m8 has gone through about 4 crash bungs costing £100... and it has not saved his bike in any way. Indictors all smashed and so on! Waste of money if u ask me, and HIM, lol!

A bracket?
Do you mean the bungs weren't directly bolted to the mounting point, but instead bolted onto a bracket which bolted to the bike at the other end (of the bracket)?
If so, I'm not surpried they didn't perform well.
PS - even decent bungs aren't there primarily to save your indicators, or even the fairing really (although they can save fairings as long as you don't slide far.)
They're there to keep the engine off the ground. Hole that and you're looking at an expensive repair bill. ____________________ Power Ranger |

yea that kind of bracket, well obviously the main objective is to save the engine more so then the fairing! However, most of the people I know with crash bungs mounted sercurely to the frame hasnt had as extensive damage to their fairing as what my m8 has had with his SV. It seems that this curved bracket idea seems pretty useless, because it bends and therefore exposing the engine to damage anyway! I just thought that Suzuki could had come up with a better way to mount the CBs on the SV (with the side fairings)
I'll just try and not to fall off (famous last words)
PS - I'm paying ten times more attention to this lovely R6 then any girl... If a girl says to me, wana go out and have fun I'll say, nah going to look at my R6, lol... Is this WRONG?

def get crash bungs!! i needed to and know i crashed the RS so it sucks, the typical type of low speed crash that would have be 90% less damage if i had them...and those panels look well expensive to replace! ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

Yep your R6 is a bit of a stunner alright! But id be getting quite worked up now, thinking that i have to pass my test first time asap, and knowing i had got that sat in me garage waiting to be ridden hard, it would be starting to piss me off not being able to get on it and give it some! |

I think he means that if there is a lower fairing fitted, it covers the mount point, and so a bracket is used somewhere else. Why not drill the fairing if the bracket has bent 4 times? ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

yea, as Fuzz says, Ive been saying only with the SV when you buy the FAIRINGS aswell! TBH unless you get it done professionally I wouldn't wana start drilling holes in my fairing and I don't think he wants to either, but its a solution!
