Dusty lost two teeth on the front sprocket and added two to the rear on his R6 and it was still capable of over 100mph...
it wheelied with a hiccup from the rider though and I wouldn't consider it an ideal bike for someone whom had just passed a DAS!!
I was riding a 955i at the time and it made me almost shit myself when I pulled away in first! (and my 955i was downgeared a bit too!)
Maybe you should buy a Bandit 6 and seriously downgear it. The extra weight will actually help acceleration because it will help prevent unwanted wheelies and help you get the power down to waste porsches off the lights!
That sounds like a plan to me... and then in the future you can bore the engine out to 883cc...
Just be careful what you tell the insurance company! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

A downgeared Kawasaki GPX600 would do the job, you should be able to pick one of those up for well under a grand, depending on how rough it is. They look respectable enough, though definately 80's compared to the more modern kit.

Any bike will accelerate like runny shit off a shovel if you increase the number of teeth on the back sprocket and decrease the number on the front sprocket.
Don't forget the insurance costs, depending on how old you are. I'm surprised nobody has produced a CapsLock HowTo yet. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

How about a bike like a CB1 or Superfour?
Would be ideal for someone who's just done their DAS, plus they're good handling bikes and a lot of fun sub-100mph and pretty nippy downa B-road. Biking isn't all about straight line acceleration/speed, a bike like these would teach you about machine handling, road awareness, cornering, forward planning, etc. Cheap too.
They could be downgeared quite easily for more go, although this may mess up the speedo readout (it's driven from the front sprocket on these bikes).
Failing that, if I was in a similar position, it'll have to be a 4 stroke 'crosser with a loud pipe, supermoto'd up. |

Try RD350LC, 350YPVS, RD500 and RG500. Blisteringly quick bikes and can give some of the big mothers a surprise at times. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S
