This may have been done in other threads, but can someone please explain to me the science behind countersteering?
I know it works, but i just can't understand why! ____________________ Space Monkey #7

When you push forward on the right bar, the little pixies that live in the bike and keep it up right all run over to the right hand side of the bike to move the bars straight again. This is turn moves some of the wieght over to the right side of the bike and thus makes the bike lean/turn that way.
See, it's quite easy really ____________________ I spend all my money on bikes and beer, the rest I simply waste! |

i think its all to do with leaning isnt it, you can induce a lean by either keeping the wheels in the same position and moving your body weight to the side of the bike and the bike will pivot around the wheels making it lean. or you can move the wheels in the opposite direction to the lean and this will cause the bike to pivot around the COM rather than shifting it with the bike. im not being very clear and this is my very simple understanding with a picture i found
