Had my NSR for 5 months now, not dropped it yet. Gave my mate a go from work which was very silly of me, Guess what?

Crying or Very sad

Smashed Front Left Indicator
Smashed Registration Plate
Scratched Fairing

Not too bad i guess but it sure teaches me a lesson in giving people a go of my bike that are not experienced enough.

I am in need of a Front Left Indicator for my 1998 NSR 125R Import.

There is someone selling one on eBay ...

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7981744759&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Can someone tell me if this will fit?

Also i have this page if anyone could tell me which one i have...

https://www.123bikes.co.uk/acatalog/index.html?http%3A//www.123bikes.co.uk/acatalog/XS_PARTS_FRONT_INDICATORS_480.html&CatalogBody

My picture is linked in my signature, ive compared the one for sale with my right indicator on my bike but the pictures look a bit different i think from the ANGLE the picture is took at.

I just need a definite answer so i can bid ASAP.

Thanks for your time,
Jon

He better be paying for the repairs then. "Drop it, you buy it"

I've lent my bike to quite a few people. I've let some people take it out for sessions on trackdays even.

Other people, I wouldn't let them touch it for anything. Laughing

i lent my bike to someone and thought hed just take it up and down the little street we were on but he was gone for 15 minutes and i wasnt sure if he was coming back.

Since then i have seen him do some crazy riding on someone elses bike that makes me realise i should never have leant him mine in the first place.

No matter how normal they seem to make it, lending someone your bike is not to be taken lightly.

Surprised

stryker long time no see! Smile

I won't be allowing antbody to ride my restored 125LC, as I could not bear it being binned or abused by somebody. Not gonna let that happen to my baby! May let someone use my RG, but on a break it you pay for it basis.

It's been a long time since anyone's ridden a bike of mine, think G was the last one, riding my old Fireblade round a roundabout, other than the guy who eventually bought it. Not many people I'd trust to ride my bikes, only those who I think are physically capable of riding it without dropping it, ride something of similar size/power and aren't gonna do stupid shit on it.

Add "and can afford to replace it" to that list for my criteria.

The only person I've let ride my bike at any speed over 5 mph normally rides a Speed Triple. He is (or his parents are) loaded too, so no worries about that. Like Mr C said, just don't lend it to anyone you don't trust and don't know whether they can replace it or not.

Lending your bike to people without licences or to learners is a sure sign of stupidity in my book. Laughing

I rode my honda super 4 (my first big bike) down to a mates wedding and my other mate who was the best man starting going on about all his bike experience and if it would be possible to take it for a spin. My better judgment went out the window for a minute and I though - no problem.

Its was only when he was actually sitting on it - and he asked me what side the clutch was on that I started to rethink my decision. He drove past the brides parents with both legs out each side of the bike, the clutch spinning away. It would have been comical if it wasn't my bike. - luckily he came back in one piece!

I'd never lend my R6 to anyone now - not unless they had a good exchange anyway Wink

Just don't tell him how I ride it.

I would only lend my bike out to someone who i knew would treat it right, and who had the correct knowledge.
Me and my mates will often swop bikes on a ride out, but only on a 'you bin it, you bought it' basis.
The only time i have refused a mate a go on my bike was in France, when the brakes were fucked. I don't like hospitals or recovery vehicles.
