I was reading on an earlier post about camera mounts for bikes. The majority of mounts in this country are crap! Have any of you had the missfortune of buying the "Oxford Tank Cam" lol, Its rubbish. I personally use my camera with these mounts. both of which bolt on to the bike. One less thing to worry about whilst going at speed (not that I do) Laughing

I'd worry about a copper spotting that (even sat at lights) and then thinking "I wonder what's on the tape...", followed by him pulling you over!

I use the RF Concept bullet cam which you can mount on the tank or on the fairing. You can see it on my tank in this picture. It's a bit more subtle!

I made my own mount from stuff I had in a junk box in the shed. Works very well, although it's only suited from my digicam.

Wouldn't they need a warrant to search property on your bike?

If you used a digital cam then you could probably quickly wipe the card, but i don't know in the case of a normal one...

Nope. If you are stopped for any reason at all, all they have to do is state that they believe there may be evidence of an offence on the tape and they can sieze if and watch it. If you have been filming yourself scratching, speeding or stunting on a public road your nicked.

If your going to put a camera on your bike make sure its discreete or you are asking to be pulled over and have the film siezed.

Nope. Digital camcorders record to a digital tape. You still need to rewind and erase it. There are minidv disc recorders out on the market now, but again, you still have to rease and format the disc just the same as a normal re recordable dvd disc.

No, i meant the ones that are usually used to take photos with but have a video camera on them anyway, like mine, records onto an sd card. They arn't the bst of quality.

Thanks for the info about what the police can do though. Thumbs Up

Although, i got caught scratching, was given a "section 59", or it wa "section 30" can't remember which one it was. But ifi get caught again my bike would be re-posessed. Crying or Very sad

Couldn't you just use one hand to pull out the tape then mash it up while he walks over to the bike?

Sorry about the quality and the lack of the mount on its lonesome.

it's quite discrete but i wasnted it hidden even more but it's difficult on a naked bike Sad

I've got a sportbikecam mount, and its OK but it takes rather boring footage!

Its very sturdy but also very noticeable and not amazingly adjustable. I'd feel happy to go scratching with a grands worth of camera attached, but I would like some better camera angles!

Definitely better than one of those motrax suction cup jobbies! Smile

Wasn't sure weather to post this in a new topic or here, and I figure it's better to post in an existing thread and all..

Basically, several times I've been out, and something's happened where I thought "I wish I had that on film" or something similar, espically my recent crash, where I have no idea what happened.

Anyway, where's a good place to find a suitable camera for attaching a bullet camera to? I'd also prefer a style of recording where I can rewrite over the existing data (so I think I don't want tape) incase nothing happens on my ride out.

Thanks alot in advance, and if it's best it gets it's own thread, let me know and I'll move it. Smile
