Servicing? what type of place

My bikes really in need of a few £££'s spend on it so im looking for a place to do it

i usually have it done by bournemouth kawasaki but being back in london i have a choice

Independant : A small shop run by about 3 guys down my road

Francise : Some one like collin collins

Dealer : My nearest Kawasaki Dealer

Im not looking to spend a fortune but i want it done, none of this we changed the oil nonsense when they havn't etc

Do as much of the simple stuff as you can do and then get the garage to do the rest. Check your service manual to see.

If you want a job done properly do it yourself. It knobs me right off the amount you have to pay for a service.

im gunna do the sparks, and balnce the carbs

i want them to clean the carbs maybe, valves ne thing else maybe clutch and 2 new tyres

how hard is it to sync carbs?

i normally pay £70 + parts for a service

i have a carb balancer thingy so not too hard

i just want it runnin mint so wanna do some of it at a dealer

ill do all the 1hour type jobs myself jsu the tricky ones at the shop

Don't imagine that haveing a dealer/shop do the job it will be done propperly... they dont have to ride it, they are ALLWAYS trying to get stuff out of the way and will often cut corners/bodge stuff into place, loose bits e.t.c.

Theres good ones but not many, only time i get the mechanic down the road to do anything is if it requires a tool i dont have or cant afford at the time.

Most stuff should be fairly easy on a zxr, the clutch should be easy enough too, i helped a mate do an engine swap and a few engine innards and its not so bad if you have all the propper gear..

Drummer - You mean valve clearences, on some its easy to do (locknut adjustments) on shims they can be fiddle (from what i have been told) and you need to order them or have them handy to change (if it needs it) easy to do really but also easy to mess up and its not somthing you want to bugger up, try and get help from a knowlageble friend.. Carb balancer i payed £50, takes 5 minutes to check and 30minutes or so to adjust, easy to do that one...
