What's the point of paying all that money for a 150cc though? I doubt they will sell it. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders. |

Might be worthwhile getting hold of a 150 engine for a 125 as I assume it will be the same frame. ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |

they should get all cbr125 to be 150's that way clever young riders (eg ones that own RS125, NSR125 mito, xtc125) would be able to laugh even louder when they beat them!!! , poor cbr owners.... ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

By saying "4-stroke torque" I was referring to the way torque is distributed on your typical 125 4-stroke compared to a similar-powered 2-stroke, which is generally seen as an advantage of owning a 125 4-stroke. It would go out the window as in shift well up the powerband, causing the bike to run more like a 2-stroke, at which point one must wonder what the point is in going to the trouble when one can just go out and buy a lighter-weight stock NSR or RS and make more overall power.
Anyhow, I just find it odd because apparently he just copied the stats from a CBR 125 (same compression ratio, bore x stroke, dry weight) and the only evidence that any work has been done is that it says "Tuned" and people seem ready to believe it. Says the CBR 125 has 13 bhp, which is false. No mention of what kind of work has been done, who tuned it or their experience. I'd honestly like to see some proof that anything has been done at all before believing a word of it.
And what are we disagreeing about mcjamweasel? You estimated 20 hp and I estimated 18-20 .. |

Same here, there are some really obscure pages written in Thai and Phillipino that I'm trying to peer through. I'm guessing that is it because I keep seeing it written as approximatly 18KW in Thai. The only English site I found didn't list the power
There is also some vastly varying power outputs, varying from 13-28 HP. More importantly though, there are owners reporting 160 KM/H on the speedo, pointing to a fair chunk more power than standard. ____________________ Bikes: too many, too much for one man to maintain anyway. |

'Often', I said .
A lighter flywheel could be one reason.
Try a 125 2st mx engine - I suspect it would make more -
and is a fairer comparison as it's an engine with a similar intent (as opposed to an engine designed for high peak rpm.) |

Ah, yes obviously there are many factors in this. I guess one would be my heavy fisted four stroke clutch left hand. ____________________ Bikes: too many, too much for one man to maintain anyway. |
