One more thing. Check the area of the frame where any crash bungs might have been. Sometimes they can cause more damage than it appears at first glance. The metal ones that are frame mounted can get pushed into the frame and cause dents or cracks if dropped at speed. ____________________ https://hyperbikes.forumsplace.com/ |

Cat C means written off on cosmetics and things like subframe, wheels or forks.. it means the bike can be fully repaired and used on the road legally without replacing the frame (i.e no damage at all to frame etc.)
Sometimes a bike can be cat c just on bodywork etc alone.
Buying a Cat C can be quite cheap as you've noticed but good luck selling it!! It's impossible, people are so put off despite it being a bargain that it makes it really really difficult to sell let alone make your money back and don't even think about buying it to re-sell for profit, it won't happen.
I've had to drop the price of my SV650 considerably AND tax/mot etc it and it STILL hasn't sold despite being a cracking little bike...
So, if you don't intend to sell it any time soon and don't mind losing yet more money on re-sale then go for it.. if it looks and rides good then who cares?
And you never know, you might get lucky with re-selling and make your money back, but like I say, don't count on it!! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Where the hell would you find cat c bikes?
This sounds like an interesting route for me to go down to find another cheap bike! ____________________ TheShaggyDA: I've got 3 or 4 pairs that predate my wife, so at least 11.5 years old. |

You see them on auto-trader from time to time.
Cat D is even less damaged I think? ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |
