Hi
The standard RS125 cdi unit has a large amount of ignition retard between 5000 and 6000rpm to cause a massive flat spot. They can easily be modified to remove this.
The race cdi units do not have this ignition retard. They may also have the timing played with slightly elsewhere.
There is also a programmable unit available, but not sure what can be changed on it.
All the best

Hi
The flat spot should not come back. Basically the original cdi unit contains both ignition maps and cutting the bridge just tells it to use the map without the ignition retard.
You will almost always get a flat spot at half peak power on any bike in a high state of tune. The exhaust works well in a limited range when the pressure waves bounce back at a perfect time to suck the next lot of exhaust gases out of the cylinder. As the pressure waves bounce at pretty much a constant speed at about half peak power they are doing their best to keep the next lot of exhaust gas in the cylinder.
If it is a really bad flat spot (ie, the bike will barely pull through it in any gear) then it may be that the bridge was not cut in the cdi properly, or something in the sealant is shorting it out.
All the best

Houlsby - You buy off electrex world right? Well i you think i'd trust them to be my supplier you've got another thing coming they don't have a clue about the racing CDI's and never seem to get back to people.
I think you should cut all your slanderous comments untill you know the true facts, and the true prices i pay, trade price for me on the Dual Curve CDI is around £234.97 + P&P and i get them from a place called HCR who HPI put me onto.
Also i do hope your regestered with the Inland Revenue as self employed if your selling all these parts, you wouldnt want the tax man catching you out. Not to mention insurance just incase the CDI causes the bike to seize, throw's someone off it and their seriously injured.
Once again if you think i pay less than £210 to buy those CDI's in you have got the total wrong end of the stick and are spouting off (once again) without knowing the true facts. And you were banned for constantly breaking the "no blatent advertsing" rule, and then been abusive to admin's and moderators. ____________________ VAG Cars - www.vagcars.co.uk - North East VAG Owners Club |

Where's the button I click to point out that you're both now just spamming this thread, and, in turn, this forum.
Take the spat elsewhere, its boring, redundant and crap!

Once again, Chris, posting once un-informed. Ex-Tech UK is Micron, they no longer supply two stroke system due to the small lack of demand. Apex do indeed import JL's and I've never said I was a sole importer, however I tend to have the exhausts in stock where possible where as Apex have them made to order which can take a few weeks for the system to arrive.
And if you had ever seen any e-mail I sent to Tom Risby (A.K.A Rizo9) you will have seem me say time and time again that I don't offer the fork anodising service as a CMP service I can have it done for him as a favour. The delay was caused by the anodiser, who agrees to do them on the side to save hundreds.
Tom was informed of all this, and when they were still not back I said I have a set recently fitted to my own bike which he could have. I then proceeded to strip down my own bike of its forks and send them to him so he got them in time for his birthday.
Name me another business that would take that option, every other one would keep the person waiting. Not to mention when I made this decision I was away racing and all I did all weekend was reply to Tom's text's when I didn’t have to.
You seem to make it out I rip everyone off, and everyone is un-happy with my services however how come there’s only one person who has used me that has turned on me for no reason, well the main reason is so you and houlsby like him. You and houlsby have never even used my services so you have no right to comment.
If I did rip people off why and I still in business? And why do I have hundreds of customers willing to back me up? And yes, I am a 100% legal business, registered with the Inland Revenue, Insured, and just about finalised VAT Registration which isn’t a legal requirement at the moment.
Once again you idle threats don’t bother me, if you really want to “chin” me you know I go to Sherburn often, and as I’ve said once before I’m there at least once or twice a month on a Wednesday night. ____________________ VAG Cars - www.vagcars.co.uk - North East VAG Owners Club |
