right it use to cut out when the revs went bolow 5k then last week its would'nt run at all, he found out it was the coil so i knew my mate had a spare so i picked it up earlyer and we tried it the spark plug sparks when its out and on the head but when we bump start it starts up and runs then cuts out

any ideas whats wrong

What colour is the spark plug?

Do you have good compression?

its a brand new plug and the compression seems ok it had a new top end about 7k ago

try adjusting the idle using the adjuster on the carb (it will say how to do this in the manual)

or even take the spark plug out and see if it is gapped correctly Thumbs Up
If the gap is too big, the spark could be too weak

cheers for the replys thing is it cuts out while revving it Confused (could that be the fuel or something) and the spark looks fine when its held on the head

try looking at your fuel lines to see if there is any kinks etc in them which would restrict fuel flow, or check to see if there is a blockage

right, on my 125 you cant rev it straight as it warms up without the choke on. so when you start it, keep choke on for 10-20 secs, then take choke of and rev to about 4k, also are you sure it has petrol in?

its got a K&N filter on so there isnt a choke on it we did get it warmed up to what should be warmer enough to tick over last night from all the times we bumped it , its got half a tank of petrol

Really? Wow thats gotta be a pain in the arse to start in the winter.

Try putting the standard filter back on?
