I have a Hongdou CG125 - it has been fine, but recently it has started to 'stick' in gear. In particular I have trouble between 3rd to 2nd. What do you think is causing this? clutch? gear selector? - I guess I need to be brave and open her up - but where do I get spares from if necessary? Rolling Eyes

Before you start taking it apart check your chain. if its too tight then this can make shift changes awkward.

another thing would be to try a clutchless gear change to see if that works, i.e accelerate with your foot putting a bit of pressure on the gear lever, then shut the throttle and let ur foot come right up and change gear. if this works then it my be your clutch cable that needs attention

Thx for advise. Certainly I can change gear without using the clutch...is this not correct?

yeah u should be able to change without your clutch. if u can change without your clutch but its sticky when your using your clutch lever then your cable may need attention, it may be slack or coming loose.

this is only a minor thing tho to check, just to make sure you've eliminated the simple stuff before you start messing with the clutch pads or gearbox
