hi my nsr has just died it sounded like the chooke was on when i was riding and then it just started slowing down but still going. then when i pulled over turned it off it started up ok ran for a about half a mile then did it again backfired now it wont start again! any ideas ? please dont say it has anything to do with the cylinder and piston

put a new plug and try . if it works you must clean tank , air box foam , carb and adjust mixture . plugs do not like too rich or too oily mixture

nope nothing trying to turn over but not sparking into life. any ideas? if it does need a new piston and cylinder kit, other than gaskets seals is there anything else i will need to replace

How easy is it to turn the engine over? eg bumpstart?

As it is too easy then no compression.

nope im not that dumb lol yeah pleanty of fuel in there tried to start it agian today and it started but when i took it along my street it wouldnt let me rev above about 6000rpm with out sounding like it had done the other day. any ideas?

look your servo-motor pulley sequence , you may have a bug either on cdi or r/c valves unit . key on : valves on high . start engine : valves on low when idle . valves on high starting about 6000 rpm
if the pulley do not move after starting , this a sign of no infos comming from the cdi through the red/white wire .

ok so tried starting again today wont start without being bump started. i took the spark plug out placed my thumb over the hole and pressed the starter it blew my thumb off the hole that suppose to be a good sign of compression isnt it? so would that rule out a problem with the piston?
