The title does sound quite harsh but im getting really annoyed with people who dont know about 2 strokes coming out with statements that are crap and just think that all bikes are 4strokes, i really dont know,

ok this is what really pissed me off, i just came out of work (lifeguard at hotel) and covered for a friend so did 12 hours (8-8) so quite tired and also as only had about 5 hours sleep, it was raining so had my waterproof trousers on and not looking forward to the 45min bike. as it raining i know that my bike will take a while to warm up,anyways i was about half way thought warming it up and some guy knokes on his closed window near me (if it was open i would understand a bit more as quite smoky) and tell me to stop sitting there and to just go! i tell me im warming it up but he proberbly didnt hear though the window and my open helmet,

the thing is if he had used maybe just one of his twatish brain cells he would off realised that i must of had a good reason to be sitting there:
-in the rain
-on my own
-in a hotel car park mile from anywhere

sorry about the rant but it really gets me, another example is people think that my exhaust is way too small and when i tell them a big exhaust would look crap to anyone who know about bikes they still dont understand!

anyone else have problems like this with there 2t's? (again sorry it a bit long)

because they 1. smell 2. are noisy 3. these days are generally ridden by young lads at full chat and 4. don't understand what a fantastic thing they are and don't appreciate the beautiful smell and noise

Does that clear it up?

i think MarkR1 your missing the point, YES they smell but if you could read:
Quote:
his closed window
i must tell you that it is very hard for a smell to get though and window, YES they are noisy but when idleing and not being revs as mine was they arnt that noisy and wasnt to close to his window,

thirdly and most important i do understand what a great thing 2ts are and glad that i have one and look after it well and not a "young las full of chat" and know bigger bike can go faster,

So MarkR1 does THAT clear things up

To be fair to the bloke (if I wasn't a biker) I'd have probably done the same. Hotels aren't cheap and last thing I would want is a noisy biker type outside my window.

Still, thats what were are here for isn't it... to cause distress to all those around us. Bikers Bah Twisted Evil

People generally don't understand bikes because they don't come in contact with them.

I've had plenty of people not understanding that you have to warm a bike up before use (2 and 4 stroke).

i cant be mad at people for not knowing dont get me wrong its just some people come out with statments that i would never say about anything ie shopping say if i didnt have a clue about it, people *think* they know and dont have the faintest idea, the worse are people who try and give me advise that dont know what there on about.

We all get it.

I hate my neighbour and he's just retired.

So I enjoy starting her up in the morning and letting her tick over for a few minutes.

Bit different on a night if kids are asleep, sometimes i would free wheel a bit out of the way, before starting up.

The neighbours know nothing for the following reasons...

"Unfortunately, one of the main objecting parties we find against our passion is the average joe public. While constituting a large part of the population, these ignoramuses know little of our sport and care even less for the thrill it provides.

To them, the passion and thrill of riding is simply the pursuit of 'dangerous motorists' and while, to be frank, they don't have a f*cking clue, they do have a large say.

As time goes on, and laws tighten, Joe (dumbarse) public, throw more and more toys out of the pram...

Perhaps they would do so less, if they realised how seriously we take our sport. This will never happen, because while a person is intelligent, reasonable and openminded, people are selfish, hard to please, and complain at the drop of a hat...

...we continue to break the law"

Maybe you should warm your bike up by gently riding it instead of sitting there like a twonk, I could never be arsed just sitting there, especially if I wanted to get home. But I appreciate where you're coming from, Countless time's people with dogs have come up to me telling me to turn it off and that it's scaring their dogs etc WHY THE FUCK do you walk them on a public road then you twat. Anyway 2-strokes rule, keep annoying everyone!

@Dischord.

If you ride a cold 2 stroke, it's rough as f*ck.
Won't do the engine much good.
Probably stall anyway.
And you shoudn't ride one with the choke on.
Hence why people warm them up.

It takes a few mins. If people don't like it, f*ck 'em.

I had a few people moan about me warming up my NSR when i had it, althought it didnt actually take long at all to get up to temperature...

The most comments i got though were along the lines of "That cant be your bke, thats a superbike"... to which i just laughed. Obviously a front faring makes a bike a superbike. Supersports - Yes, Superbike? Not quite lol

The exhaust was never realy an issue, most people just didnt dare say anything because they thought all exhausts were the same. I doubt any of them actually realised it was smaller than a 4t Wink
