I can't work out what just happened there. Someone explain it to me. All he had to do was go around a bend. What would one have to do to get a bike to behave that way?

trying to figure out myself! Confused
did he
a) lock the back wheel up for a moment, rear brake the cause
b) too much throttle going into the corner, making the rear lose traction for a instant

it looks like he was very lucky, it looks like there is a bit of a drop over that wall! Evil or Very Mad

Just before he loses it i see him reaching for the clutch or something. All he had to do was continue at the speed he was going and in the same gear and basically just steer around the bend. I just don't get it Neutral

It didn't look to me like the brake light came on so it must have been throttle, but even then it wasn't as if he was caning it really, was he? Neutral

it seemed the bike wanted to have a small slide he panicked bike came back straight. most prob he felt safer pulling the front brake to slow it down abit by doing that he couldnt bank the bike in to the corner incase of a front slide and too scared to hit the back brake.
slide could be many things tyres cold oil or substance i think wen u are in a position like that u can do only the best at the time while your ass is flapping it seemed an open area so i cant c him not noticing a bend like that.

The rear gave way slightly, which put him into the weave. He should never have taken his foot off the peg or sat the bike up after it happened, should have kept is leant over and held the throttle.

Yeah, i'm sure i can see him change down a gear with his foot, if he did it and then dropped the clutch, or tried to clutchless shift it?, that might have caused it.

But i cant really see what his clutch hand is doing.

Definate comedy crash though, sooooooo bloody lucky.

scary accident, i thought when i saw his body go up he was off over the wall.

I know that as a fairly new rider (about 8/9 months) i still get confused over what to do when i feel the bike running wide and not doing what i wanna, i dont wanna grab the front cos it might low side, and i dont wanna smash the rear incase i highside!

but i usually scrape through feeling a bit daft for cocking up, but you shake it off and get on with the next bend!

reckon he changed down as he turned in, and that caused the rear to momentarily lose traction, and slide to the side.......

I don't think there was enough acceleration for it to be a throttle caused rear wheel slide.

I think he banged down a gear or two, dropped the clutch so he looked 'cool' when he went powering off. Back wheel slid, he'd never had it happen before and went off on a tangent.

Which is very hard not to do. Very similar thing happened at Snett, rear wheel lost it, gripped again, sent me into a bit of a wobble, and I headed straight across the grass.

Luckily there wasn't a wall, and I was already banked over to the point I was sliding, so there was no option to tighten my line.

ouch. He's lucky he didn't go over the wall!

You see his foot change gear just before he looses grip, It looks like he lost the back wheel a bit when he let the clutch level out then just paniced and went straight on...

Maybe its best to concentrate on riding and not looking good on video. Or if you have to make videos do it somewhere slightly more forgiving!
For what its worth it looked like he accelerated hard and the rear stepped out.
Glad it wasn't me Confused
