i have had nothing wrong with this alarm, until today...

i went out for a 45 mile trot around the countryside (no electrics on, so battery is charging)... got home, turned my biek off and the alarm armed.

went to check the voltage of the bike (lights were glowing last night). Shot i can't turn my alarm off. (none of my key fob things worked). so i stuck with the alarm sounding until i could get to the battery, and checked the voltage... 12.9Volts, batteries charged.

phoned up the place that installed my alarm(which i've had since february) and they said "it's probably a flat battery" so i told them it was fully charged, and they said to take the bike up to there shop (3 miles away) and they will reset it...


how do you transport a bike, that has the alarm stuck on... that will go off on touch/tilt/ignition?... i told them this and they said they would send the mechanic out tomoro morning...

find the alarm and cut one of the cables that goes 2 it at a decent length and re connect later?

alarm is bolted to the plastic... all the cables are black, and fork me, if i can find the right cable (also has internal backup battery power)

I thought that's what they were for?

Your complaining about the bike shop? Now I don't know anything about them, but what more can they do other than deliver a mechanic to YOUR door, the very next morning after you have rang up???

Some people are never happy!! I bet you won't even make him a cup of tea!

i phoned up the bike shop at lunchtime (while it was open) it's not just the alarm that made me disike the bike shop! it was the 1 and a half week delay on getting my bike, then me taking it back 2 days later with a ruptured fuel line, then back again a week later for something else.

just got of the phone, and they told me how to fix it...
have to disconnect the battery turn the ignition, it's all good fun.

just checked my battery... no fluid in it . looks like i'm after a new Reg/Rec

Refill the battery with fluid first because otherwise it will not hold charge. The fulid usually gets empty though from recharging lots.

i filled the battery with ionised water, but am buying a new batteyr (hopefully tomoro) if i get my money. then will charge it and stick it in

Hey that happend to me
what you have to do is unscrew the black box with the speaker from the wires , get one of them pens that lights up if there is power going threw , and when you unscrew the box youll see the big thick wire that you unscrewed has like 10 little squares , stick the pen in there and find the faults , there will be 2 faults , you get a little piece of wire and put it in 1 to the other this will bypass it .

is fixed now, i had to reset the codes so the key fobs work.

Ah nice 1 , it rained and water got in mine and the imobalisor stopped working at a petrol station ha!
then the sound went so i sent it off to sola-larm they fixed it sent me it back left it outside and it rained again , and then the sound went again , left it a few days it dried out , sound is back but now it goes off on its own once ive armed it , also the lights have stopped flashing when you arm dissarm it.

In my opinion i wouldnt recomend these alarms

mine has got slightly wet, but works.

the indicators don't flash if you have a low/dead battery though. i personally find it ok as an alarm... unless you are working on the engine and constantly arm/disarming it because the immobiliser kicks in every 30 seconds :@

Although they are a good idea, I remember them being stupidly expensive.
