out for a nice bimble his evening... couple of pant filling moments on
a greasy roundabout when the front lost traction for a bit, and again
when the rear broke away briefly when leaving a roundabout to join a
dual carriage way..

however, they were relatively fun to the grand finale.

Heading home, darkish, single carriage way..

Pull out to overtake a car, to find what I can only assume was a
largish brick sitting on the white line.

Before I can think/react/anything "BANG!" and the whole bike takes off...

must have hit it nice and square, cos despite my arse leaving the seat,
and one foot coming off the pegs, I stayed on, and after realising I was
still rolling, and the tyre wasn't flat, continued at a much reduced
pace to a layby 1/2 a mile on.

Lovely big dent in the rim Neutral

can see what looks like rock/dust residue on both the front and rear
tyres, but it's the front rim that is knackered.

that bike IS jinxed!!!!

eh?

nah.. will get the rim straightened if poss for about £60, or find one from a breaker and sort it myself.

Not worth the hassle for a claim

was a busy road, and I couldln't stop just there as I was now at the head of the traffic. By the time I found somewhere to stop, there's no way I would have found it in the dark.

I think this is all part of a new safety scheme Wink . With all the road kill I've had to dodge over the last two weeks I honestly believe that some bloke is actually scattering dead rabbit, foxes and badgers across the roads of Cheshire during the night. One guy who works for me actually hit a cows head on his way to work in his chavmobile. He told me that he had seen it but thought it was a badger so carried on driving Shocked.

Damn thats crazy!! well done for staying upright though. Do you think a glass Lucozade bottle would have had a similar result? nearly hit one sqaure on at about 50mph, scared the hell outta me, just appeared out of nowhere!

Can relate to the dead animals aswell, they always seem to be in your line. Had a wobble from an Owned squirrel.!!

nah.. you'd probably have either smashed the bottle and got a flat, or maybe cos it's round, it would have skited away

Im not sure, but Ive heard something about being able to claim off the highways agencies Question

Just an idea, might be able to claim back the £60 damage, and get the brick removed from the road so no one else hit it.

i hate our roads sumtimes! i always find dea animals on the roads that i use to get to college and work, the worst was riding to work and a bird (quite a big one) flew infront of me, was so close that after i missed it i relised that my eyes were shut and my head move to the side and quite far down in a attempt to miss it, if anything came the other way i probably would of hit it because had my eyes closed,,,,,,not good!lol

Nice work staying upright! i half expected one of your lines to be "next thing i know i'm sliding away...". I dont live anywhere near countryside, so all i get round here are the sheet metal road signs that chavs move into the roads - one of them sure gave me an "oh sh!t" moment the other night.

no need to apologise for it.. I'm considering that too, although it seems to be okay, not even a nick on the outside.
