Just bought myself a new helmet, HJC CS-12, nice little thing, looks great feels comfy as hell and keeps most annoying noises out, however it mists up way too much, literally i only have to breath out a little bit too much and the whole thing steams up

got a tinted visor for it too which has the same problem, tried the lil bottle of anti-fog spray and thats about as much use as a condom in the popes pocket

any ideas on what to do? is there anything i can buy that will actually work?

cheers

If your cheap, rub Fairy liquid into the inside untill it drys up, creates a fog resistance...........apparently. Not tried it yet but heard it mentioned a few times.

Shaving foam does the same, for a short time, tend to ride with it open unless i'm really going for it.

The anti-fog spray is reputed to actually work on glasses. Worth a try if you've got it already.

As I have mentioned earlier, they work just fine for me (and MrsH too). In fact I suspect you are the exception rather than the norm.

I found that as an anti fog device you cannot beat a fog city style device.

but the hyper optiks bit didnt work so well.

It takes too long to change colour (unlike a dual visor helmet such as caberg V2) and does not go dark enough to block the sun.

but My HJC lid has a built in anti fog...fog city style thing in the HJC visor.

Ah, I see what you mean now. I don't think it's supposed to go dark, mearly tint slightly to stop any glare - which it seems to do just fine.

Fog city hyper optics. Cost about £40.00 but well worth it. It reacts to bright sunlight faster than you can type a post here.
Good for day or night. I've used one for two years and two of the guys I ride with got them aswell.
Glasses are cool but when they fog too yer phuqued.
£40.00 for a fog hyper when proper shades will cost £40.00. You will find that you dont really need glasses when the insert is fitted.
Special coating needs a little care but I wash mine with warm soapy water and let it dry. Sorted.....

Motrax do a "fog free" product that I've been using since march, and it's damned good.

Good thing is it works on any glass/transparent surface, so you should be able to use it for glasses too.

I used Fog Cities for about 3 years, as from my daily commute to Uni (50 mile round trip) in all weathers (mostly raining). They were very good, but don't let them anywhere near water/moisture. I had to change the insert about 2 or 3 times over that period, as the adhesive seal kept leaking from prolonged use.

My new lid came with a Pin Lock visor insert, which is removeable and interchangeable. You can get DIY kits to fit them to any visor. And they're so much better than the Fog City. They're easier to clean, tidier, much better at keeping the misting out and also require no glue - so will never leak.

I'd recomend them over the Fog City.

Another vote for Fog City

Beware though, as a few have said, I got a fog city hyperoptics for my current visor and it was a waste of money. The changing tint no longer works (after 1 yr) and with certain helmets (mines a Shoei Zone) the hyperoptics is too thick and stops the visor shutting correctly.

My advice, having tried both, is stick to the regular fog city and you won't go wrong.

My AGV helmet came with a antifog visor and it is brilliant. If it is dry i've never managed to get it to fog, even removing the visor and breathing directly onto it doesnt make a difference. In the wet it steams up a little but a open it a crack and its fine.
