I have now booked my bike in for a new pair of tyres next week, I was after a pair of Pirelli Diablos but unfortunately they would have to get ordered in.
I am currently on Dunlop D207RRs and fancy a little change to something a little sportier.
The options I've got are Michelin Pilot Powers for £215 fitted or Bridgestone Bt-014s for £220 fitted.
I shopped around and found places that would do it cheaper by 15 quid or so but they are booked until september, I really need a new rear
So folks what should it be? ____________________ Its a lovely day, just wait until some bastard spoils it. |

I have the 014s and really like them, but have never tried the Pilot Powers.
I had Dunlop 208s before and they felt quite crap compared to the Bridgestones.
I can't fault the 014s |

I'm running BT014's and really like them but have also been thinking about the pilot's as i've heard good things about them.
The 014's are good tyres but don't last as long as the 010's i used before.
The only reason i fancy a change is because i've been using Bridgestone's for about 4 years and wonder what else is out there and how good they are. Trouble is i like them and don't want to get something else and wish i'd stayed with Bridgestone.
From what i hear there both very similar and you won't regret whichever you go for. ____________________ Nothing gets the point across quite like a raised middle digit.

Im on my second set of 014's. Only let me down once on a white line a few weeks back. I don't tend to get 'great mileage' out of them due to the nature of the roads round here but Ive got about 2000 miles out of one before.
Ive never tried the pilot power, but I tried the older 'pilot' ones and they were shit. Especially front end, washout city.
Also had an avon for about a day when I bought the bike. Got rid as soon as because they shouldnt be allowed on the road, utter dangerous bollocks.
Also had michelins on the hire bike, hairy!
So I'm a bit biased towards the bt014's. Especially for the fast thrashing and kneedowns around the lakes!

The RR version uses the 207GP compound rubber on a road biased carcass.
The 207GP, I think, was used in world supersport racing and is used in plenty of lower level racing, so you're not going to get much stickier.
(Ok, the 207 has been superseeded by the 208GP then 209GP, but that's happened over only a few years).
I have used pilot races in the past, and the were a bit crap, wore far, far too quickly.
I always liked 010s, but the only time I've decent ridden on 014s they suddenly lost traction without warning - while the 010 I reckon would have given more warning, but may also be as it wasn't on a bike I've ridden before. |
