 |
|
Hey guys,
Would there be any benefits of fitting a K&N filter to my CG125? Just fancy buying it something nice and an air filter sounds like a good bet!

No mate...won't do a thing which you'll think's worth the money. Won't make it power wheelie in 3rd gear nor will it 'thank' you for it. |

It will just make it sound a bit better thats all. No performance enhancement here. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

It will take away the need to replace the standard one at service intervals. And I bet you a K&N isn't much more expensive than a standard honda filter. ____________________ gixxer thou K6 , Cbr400 gullarm x 2 , cb400 superhack. |

If you totally remove the air box then fit a foam filter, if it gets wet, say when riding in the rain, the filter usually just soaks up the water. The engine is starved of air so it just dies and probably wont fire up until the foam has dried out. It will also mean you might need to tweak the carb a little due to the increased airflow. Other than those, it wont make any improvement, probably wont make it sound better either.
Of course, if you'd like one, buy one. Its your choice, not ours. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

The air filter on a CG125 is a foam sock, which doesn't get replaced but cleaned and oiled, so there's no cost of replacement anyway. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
