You might want to ask Zxr400er as he has a side mounted steering damper (i think).

There's the link to his pics of his bike but not 100% sure if its fitted in them pictures. I also think the steering damper is purple so its a bit hard to tell from those angled pictures.

Thanks for that gauliouses.
I have two ideas of fitting (both illustrated by Monet, I mean me
1. The loop in the end of the rod connects directly to the frame. The square clamp is connected onto the damper, and is bolted on to the fork clamp. This means that the rod will not get in the way of my leg, and has about an inch gap from the front fairing, but as the fairing and frame are solid, shouldnt get any closer/further.
2. As in the picture by Gaulious - the fork clamp is bolted through the hole in the end of the rod, and the clamp that holds the damper part is bolted onto the frame. My original idea, but the rod gets in the way of the leg.
What do you lot think, I want to use idea 1 - anyone else done this? |
