Brief potted biking history:
1968 – rode mate’s Bantam 125 around for about 6 months.
April 2005 – convinced by a customer (who’d been biking since he was 3 ??) that at my time of life (56) I should get a bike – cheeky sod.
June 2005 – Passed Theory Test
July 2005 – Passed CBT then did Direct Access course followed by test of which I made a complete bollox-up of.
August 2005 – Ordered a new Honda Varadero XL125 to get a few months “road sense on 2 wheels” (at least I think that’s what the examiner said ) before having another go at the test and, if sucessful, move up to a Deauville

Well the new baby finally arrived to-day delivered safe & sound in the dealer’s nice big van. So off I went for a quick spin round the local area (note to self – must remember to turn on petrol before driving off ) and came back with the biggest grin on my face that The Management has ever seen (well not since the honeymoon night 25 years ago so she says )

Might try a longer run tomorrow so if any of you folks are out on the A24 or A29 and come across a learner with a glazed look on his face, please be gentle - I apologise in advance for not waving but I will probably be hanging on for grim death . I will creep past Boxhill & Bury Hill so as not to disturb you all.

Had a brilliant day out yesterday . Ended up at Selsey Bill via Bognor . 129 mile round trip Still at least it helps towards the running-in and the tyre scrubbing. Certain bits of the body ached like hell last night.

Sorry I didn't pop into Bury Craigs23 but I was a bit late leaving and had a mission in Bognor

Next trip to the Isle of Wight on Tuesday for a few days - must remember to turn off the A3 before the motorway starts though

i somtimes go along the A29, that the one along the coast leading to brighton? anyways if you see a RS125 red black (see avatar) gives us a nod! good luck with riding it, sounds like your enjoying it!
