Brief potted biking history:
1968 – rode mate’s Bantam 125 around for about 6 months.
April 2005 – convinced by a customer (who’d been biking since he was 3 ??) that at my time of life (56) I should get a bike – cheeky sod. Mad
June 2005 – Passed Theory Test Surprised
July 2005 – Passed CBT then did Direct Access course followed by test of which I made a complete bollox-up of. Embarassed
August 2005 – Ordered a new Honda Varadero XL125 to get a few months “road sense on 2 wheels” (at least I think that’s what the examiner said Wink ) before having another go at the test and, if sucessful, move up to a Deauville Very Happy

Well the new baby finally arrived to-day delivered safe & sound in the dealer’s nice big van. So off I went for a quick spin round the local area (note to self – must remember to turn on petrol before driving off Rolling Eyes Sick ) and came back with the biggest grin on my face that The Management Twisted Evil has ever seen (well not since the honeymoon night 25 years ago so she says Cool Embarassed )

Might try a longer run tomorrow so if any of you folks are out on the A24 or A29 and come across a learner with a glazed look Shocked on his face, please be gentle - I apologise in advance for not waving but I will probably be hanging on for grim death Confused . I will creep past Boxhill & Bury Hill so as not to disturb you all. Smile

Had a brilliant day out yesterday Very Happy . Ended up at Selsey Bill via Bognor Shocked . 129 mile round trip Thumbs Up Still at least it helps towards the running-in and the tyre scrubbing. Certain bits of the body ached like hell last night.

Sorry I didn't pop into Bury Craigs23 but I was a bit late leaving and had a mission in Bognor Cool Embarassed Shocked

Thanks to all the bikers who gave me a nod - never had that in the van only Middle Finger Middle Finger and Evil or Very Mad

Next trip to the Isle of Wight on Tuesday for a few days - must remember to turn off the A3 before the motorway starts though Rolling Eyes

I think that's the A27 - the A29 goes from Beare Green (Dorking) down to Bognor.

Thanks for your wishes - I will keep an eye out for you

You're right Davo, the A259 goes along the coast & the A27 runs further inland. Thumbs Up
