my accident was my fault, and I was on TPF&T
wasn't a waste, cos the bike was so cheap, that it would have cost more to insure fully comp than it would have cost to replace it.
as a rule of thumb, I tend to work it out that if the cost of fully comp over 3 years is getting close to the value of the bike as I bought it, it's not worth it.

Hi
Only claimed once and that was tpft. Took 6 months but got everything through with a reasonable settlement.
I am fully comp on the Bandit, but that is because as you get older and with more no claims the difference becomes far smaller. Even if an incident happens where I could claim I am not that likely to unless I have to or the claim would return a fair amount more than I would loose in higher premiums over the next half a decade.
All the best

I had tpo & had a accident i won the case & got £500 from his insurance so it's a claim but doesn't put anything on the cost as his insurance paid
If my insurance paid it would be very very high, But as i only had tpo.. |

Losing no claims is all people think about these days. More Than for example protect it for life, as do Direct Line?.
And NFU (National Farmers Union ) who I and my mother are with, are always superb. My brother got hit by an uninsured driver, he was in my mums name, they paid up and whacked 4 years no claims straight back on anyway. (She had 4 before the accident.) |

a lot dpends on value of bike, and cost to repair after a small off
I know a lot of pople who have not claimed off there own policy ( there fault accident ) even though they were FC becuase of excess etc.
I am FC, but if i do come off mine then there is a real chance it will cost over £1k to re-panel and if i do claim it will be to get my money back to buy a car or so her indoors tells me ____________________ GS500e- 3 weeks, vfr750 - 12 months, cbr900 13 months, CBR1100XX 2 years, CBR600F4i 3 months cbr900rrx 5 months and counting |

I am going for rock-bottom, TPO insurance from now on. The hassle involved in getting money out of an insurance company, even for a clear-cut claim is not worth the headache. They also try to screw you over at every turn.
For this reason I am only keeping bikes I can stand to loose. Like my MZ that was written off eventually. I could have bodged the bloody thing up myself for £2-300 and been back on the road on it within a week rather than getting a headache to-ing and fro-ing for four months with an insurance company. It has cost me a lot more than that insuring the thing comp for the last three years. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. Depends on how much your bikes worth & how much the premium is, i am fully comp thank god, i had to swerve for a idiot running too wide on a corner, in the rain, then over a bloody manhole cover. BANG! still waiting for pay out. Helmet, leathers the lot Asshole didn't stopped by the way.
So if i was only TPFT i would be screwed. Tuff call if your paying a lot for FC though |

No you wouldn't, if the accident was the caused by an untraceable driver then that's dealt with by the MIB. |
