After a slight mishap with the NSR here's my price list to fix it.
L/h lower fairing = £75.53
L/h upper fairing = £34.82
L/h rear Fairing = £51.91
L/h grille = £34.08
Back wheel = £179.21
VAT = £71.22
P&P = £5.50
TOTAL = £446.77
Plus need 2 new indicators = say £20.00
Plus £16.00 to swap tyre over
Plus £5.00 to touch up front wheel scrape
Plus odds and sodds
Plus second hand air induct as honda don't sell it £20.00
= grand total of...Drum roll... £507.77
------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the question is should I claim?
I have FC insurance, but being only 20 what will it do to my premiums next year?
I currently insure:
the bike FC: for £560
the car TPO: for £760
I got fully comp, as if I road into someone else, and they claimed off my insurance, I would be just as well claiming for my bike; But since no one else is involved I'm not sure what to do!
ADVICE PLEASE! |

Hi
Claiming "saves" you £500 now but will cost you that over the next couple of years in extra premiums. Added to which you probably have an excess of a few hundred pounds.
Not worth claiming.
However those prices seem quite cheap for bodywork.
Personally fix what you have to fix then keep an eye on Ebay for the other parts to turn up cheaply.
All the best

Hears my current insurance record.
20 years and 6 months old. No claims. No accidents. No Points
Driving since 07/2003 got car 01/2004
Ride an NSR as of 05/2005
First year the premium for the car was £1450
Second years premium for the car £760
Got the bike in May 2005 paid £560 for FC insurance with no NCB.
Separate insurance companies...no claims ever
--------------
Crashed bike on Wednesday, landed on my head, cosmetic damage a plenty. No mechanical damage, apart from chunk out of back wheel right on the rim. Now out of pocket buy £500 and will still have a scraped front wheel?
Been told that whilst I have no NCB to lose, a claim alone would be enough to send both premiums rocketing?
What do I do?

Hi
Glad you could make a decision that you are satisfied with. Rear wheels should be easy to find 2nd hand (it is the fronts people bend on the side of cars).
I know about David Silver Spares but those prices really do surprise me. I am getting given an old NS125F so I may even consider buying new bodywork for it (dodgy metallic maroon paintwork at the moment).
All the best
