A few bits of good news

Nothing broken - had an x-ray and it's just a bad sprain Thumbs Up

Spoke to the insurance people - Going to give me a replacement bike to use Mr. Green Also they are going to put in a personal injury claim for me.

But best of all

The bloke who hit me is only insured 3rd party. Get ready for a big repair bill Middle Finger Mr. Green Middle Finger

Wonder what bike I'll get as a temporary replacemnt? The chap on the phone said it will be something decent. I'm not convinced...

Bad news mate, its my worst nightmare.
I've been lucky so far in the 5 yrs i've been on the road with a bike and i've done lots and lots of miles, lady luck is most certainly on my side.
Good luck with the claim, i'd have thumped him, you were obviously quite chilled about it all Thumbs Up

Trust me I nearly did. Had to think about the bigger picture (which is quite rare for me). Although thinking about it, could I have claimed I was in shock and was not responsible for my actions. Especially as he approached me after the accident quite aggressively.

I just couldn't believe that after a head-on with a biker his first words to Joe were "you were going too fast", didn't even ask if he was alright ffs!

Glad to hear nothing's broke - hopefully it'll be a nice quick recovery. Great news about the replacement bike though eh? If it's anything better than a scooter then there's some fun to be had with that. Wink Mr. Green

Mike, cheers for the tea - bill's going to the cager. Wink

Like Joe said, some serious restraint needed not to I reckon. The guy really was bloody arrogant about it all. Left his car parked in the middle of the road until it was towed as well - could've easily pushed it out of the way so people could get passed more easily. Hell, me and Mike even offered to push it!

Here's hoping for a decent and quick outcome. Get that RR bought back from the insurance company for £5.50 already. Wink

Glad you are ok mate.

Bought my 954 Blade back off the Insurance company for £150 - £200 not quite sure which now Rolling Eyes , sold it as a write off/track bike for £2k and nearly had my hand taken off. Similar damage to you by the looks of it, every panel, engine covers plus the exhaust.

I suppose if it had to happen coming in to winter time isn't too bad a time. Might even be worth a wait till the 06's are in the dealers? Wink

Good luck and don't give the insurers an inch.

How could you be going to fast though, it was far too busy to be going that fast, and thiers a set of traffic lights just up ahead on that road.

He was just going straight on the defensive. He knew he f*cked up. The police and witnesses confirmed that.

Tatters - If they give me a CG125 I'll tell them to stick it up their arses.

Maybe at first but not later, I'm pretty sure. Think he must have given them to his mate or something as he had a set of keys and was fiddling around with the immobiliser bit. Either way, the guy who did have the keys (I guess his mate) was either impolite or just an idiot. Wink

I hope his prelude is screwed. He is a liability to other road users, not to mention an utter tw*t. If i were you, he would have the imprints of my carbon knuckles showing up on his bones in x-rays. Still, you may get a lot of compo, a cheap as hell track bike, and a nice shiny new motor. I hope you're claiming for your gear aswell. I'm not a malicious person, but i want to see you take this guy to the cleaners. Anyway, sorry bout my rant, glad you didnt come off any worse than you did though!

Yeah, after all the accident's already happened. Why turn a nice compensation claim into a stint in the dock for assault/ABH/GBH? Granted, easier said than done though. Some people are unbelievable with what they'll try and blame on someone else and their general lack of compassion.

Had a call from my insurance company - They're sending a salvage company round to pick up the bike. The words 'Total loss' were mentioned.

They are having someone assess it, but it doesn't look good Crying or Very sad

I'm going to be sad to see her go. It sounds a bit weird but I feel like I'm letting my bike down if I let them write it off..... Confused

It's worth asking for salvage, you could make a couple of grand selling it off as a write off track bike. Buy you some insurance if nothing else.
