looks like a good idea for bikes without a oil filter, l would,nt expect it to pick up much though.

It will pick up the odd shard of metal perhaps... except most of an R6 engine is Aluminium alloy and therefore will not be attracted by magnets.

Sounds a bit like snake oil to me! Smile

They are a good idea, bikes and cars always used to have them. You will be amazed at the amount of iron filings the things pick up in an apparently normal engine. They worked better in older engines which had a deep sump and sludged out any debris next to the drain bolt. Modern engines and oils tend to keep the stuff in suspension more.

You can get magnetic oil filter covers too, which I thought was a good, innovative idea.

I sell them, about £8.00 each and you would be amazed at the shít they pick up. Also give a good indication of the wear on a gearbox.

wouldnt it be better to have something like that in a better place? im sure the sump doesnt get that much crap in there unless its sat...wouldnt it be better to have a section of pipe that you could put a magnetic ring around...and then have a easy way to clean it...as sureley you loose all the oil every time you need to check/change that...

Wasn't there something a while back that you could put in the petrol tank that increased your performance and/or economy? Wasn;t that supposed to be some magnetic like device?

My monster has one, I found out when I did an oil and filter change. There was quite abit of metal shards on there, so it does work! Thumbs Up

You're thinking of Power Pills or something labelled to be an octane booster.
As the fuel and oil *shouldn't* mix there's nothing you can put in the fuel that would make the lubrication system any better.

You can get magnets to put around fuel lines, the people selling them claim they boost fuel economy.

Anyone ever bought one of these and found it to be of any use?

As said before I sell them. I also use them on all my own bikes, they also come as standard on most new bikes.
