 |
|
Hi,
I'm still looking for my next bike, still can't decide...
I need it to be somthing reliable, not super sporty, but not a cg125 either (no offence).
I've just had a look at an old 79' CB750, with all the fairing on and panniers, and it looks right up my street.
Thing is i'm worried about power, i'd have to have it restricted down to 33bhp, would it still be a good runner?
Anyone got any history with these bikes?
I don't mind doing a bit of tinkering around on the old jaloppy, but i'd like it to be reliable when i'm out on the road.
Other bikes i'm looking at at the mo are:
Honda Roadster
Dragstar (400 would be great but prob 650)
Kwak GPZ550s
Virago's.
Is the 750 gonna rip my arms off, having only been riding a 125 before?
(Yes I know I was talking about sidecars earlier, but i've given up on that idea now as the other half can be the sensible one as he loves cars)
I'm really kinda stuck, im a 'want it yesterday' kinda person and I just don't know what would be my best choice, theres so much out there in the second hand market (i'm looking to spend upto £1500 max) ____________________ Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.

Only going to be reaching 120mph....ahem...
I'll be sticking well within the speed limits, I won't be doing track days, i'll mainly be using it to go run errands, and when I can escape for longer go for a quick blast out in the countryside.
I prefer the styling of the cruisers to the sports, and I like em noisy (but legal).
I fancy a nice dirty lookin 80's style bike, maybe a hard tail chop done by 'mad dog bob' in his shed...or summat.
But with plenty of room for my shopping ____________________ Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.
