 |
|
This morning, for the first time in a few years, I rode to work with my minidisk player on.
As expected, I ended up riding a bit faster since I couldn't hear my bike revving as easily, and also "System of a Down" promotes a swift pace!
I enjoy riding with music, although I have a problem with my earphones. Firstly I find it very difficult to put my helmet on without pulling the earphones out. Secondly, possibly due to them getting half pulled out when i put my lid on, after about 10 or 15 minutes on the bike, they become really uncomfortable.
I have Sony Fontopia (in the ear) headphones.
So... if you also listen to music on your bike, which headphones do you use? And how do you put your lid on without pulling them out of your ears? ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

I used those Sony Groove head phones that go in your ear with no probs.
Should be around £20 a pair, best sound you can get, combined with a Groove walkman, but they could have changed the name now.
Dodging thing IMO, I fucked myself up listing to tunes on a bike, took too many chances. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

You can't beat a bit of Motorhead to make you go faster. |

I can see why they cause a problem.
Mine were in ear ones like them but not as long. Not sure what make should do similar, Sony should still have them.

Nah - just need to find the right set of headphones.
I wonder if iPod headphones would be better? ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

Sounds like the solution to my problem is to buy myself an iPod nano then! ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

I have an autocom, so the speakers are fitting into the helmet.
so tunes are no problem
Also means I can use the phone (when I get round to sorting out the bluetooth widget) and talk to the gf when she's pillion.
also plan on getting the bike power supply kit, and fitting the radio so I can chat to my mates when we're out riding

The soloutin depends on your helmet + you will loose volume on them...
Push the headpohnes into the gap where your cheekpands and lineing are, this will (on most helmets) keep them close to your ear, then have the wire taped down onto the helmet...
This way you can just plug in when you put your helmet on..
Been doing this for a year or so and the only dissadvantage is the lower sound level, louder headphones would fix it but... ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I have adopted Rammstein as my riding soundtrack, but they can't really make me ride faster on a 50. Plus the music is usually fazed out until I stop at lights etc. |

Gillan - No Laughin in Heaven... then a random selection of 70s rock, followed by NineInchNails.
Makes for some rather aggressive riding... but keeps ya awake on long cold damp night-time journeys.
I found riding with music on worked wonders for my confidence and awareness of others on the road around me (illogical but it did). P'raps trained me to stop listening and start looking more... *shrug*
I just use the cheapy headphones that came with my MP3 player - nowt flash... helmet is tight enough to keep em in my ears...
At one point I had a pair stitched into the helmet with a female socket that poked out the back of the lid... then just plugged MP3 player into helmet... cept I took lid off in a hurry due to entrapped wasp on a summers' day and strained the wire... back to the cheapies I went... ____________________ FAB-Racing MiniMotoSidecars - Back with a vengeance - F1 Class 2011...
