after this weekend i came off at an estimated 110 - 120 mph on the track, and managed to walk away with 2 grazes and a stiff neck, just wondered what the fastest people have come off and how much damage they caused them selves and there bike?
morbid curiousity i guess! Confused Rolling Eyes

My highside was about 60mph I reckon (that's an estimated guess though).

Damage to bike: Engine casing, lower fairing, rear fairing (is that even the right name for it?), gear change lever, clutch lever, scuffed indicators, crash bungs.

Damage to me: Pulled muscles in my back and shoulder, damaged my ankle and got concussion and amnesia.

Damage to gear: Knackered helmet, ripped leathers (mainly superficial).

Hit a car at about 10-20mph. Sprained my ankle. Don't really intend on doing it again, especially at higher speeds.

I highsided on the A6 at Shap doing about 70mph and ragdolled down the road.

Bike needed a handlebar, a bit of plastic filler on the corner of the fairing, a clutch lever and a rear footpeg (about £45 worth from the breakers). I got a nippy little carpet burn on the point of one elbow where I rubbed it on the lining of my jacket. Mr. Green

Came off my Kawa at 0 mph. Some old bastard reversed into me at a set of lights. Mates thought it was funny that all the scratches went backwards. (The bastard was flooring it at the time and pushed the bike down the road)

Still waiting for insurance payout and this happened in June.

Had a couple of spills as a kid, one on a borrowed lambretta, was wheelspinning it on ice and it bit and we went through a fence. That was low speed, but funny as the owner was laughing too. Another nice low side on a DT. 16 years old and stupid. Shorts and Tee shirt. Ouch!

Just waiting for the next one really. Got a bald rear tyre at the mo that hangs out nicely as I accelerate out of a corner in the wet. I've read it adds to riding skills. Hmmmm. I'd better sort it out or it's just going to mean a hospital visit.

Well looks like I was pretty lucky from the accident I had, judging by the above posts…..

45-50MPH straight into the side of an Omega on my Aprilia RX50.

I bent the door with myself and my bike broke the axel at the front after it slid away from me.
Apparently from eye witnesses (girls from school) I grabbed the brake, went down at the same time as hitting the car, flipped in the air and landed on my side.
I hurt my knee quite badly, had unbearable gravel shit in my knees, some nasty bruising and stiffness.
The Taiwanese nurse took no prisoners with the iodine brillo pad I can tell you…..
The bike had bent frame, bent front wheel, forks were fu***d, clocks gone, headlamp, exhaust hanging off………
Oh, picture……… Thumbs Up

fastest crash, about 30-40, front slid away and both me and bike went over cattle grid (funny when you think about it) i had bruised hip bone, broke the brake lever and bar, back up in a week.

funny how my slower crashes involving a car were worse.

PS: hows the bike? what happened, i havent seen a thread about it yet. wasnt that bike quite new to you? shame if it was. Give us details my boy, details!

0 mph.

Waiting to enter a busy roundabout at the top of the village where I live, car ploughed into the back of the bike at about 35mph.

I ended up on the tank (still hanging on dearly to the handlebars), bike was shunted about 30ft, car's bumper was wedged between the rear wheel and subframe. It twisted the frame, flattened the rear wheel, ruined the single sided swinger and most parts of the bodywork resulting in a right off.

I had friction burns on my hands and a bit of a sore back.
