 |
|
.....in the wet?
Just on my way home I was hitting dry patches and wet patches. But then I was thinking it was dry when it was actually wet and cranking the bike over on a wet surface, and quite a bit too! Stable as you like!
I've kinda slatted my D207's but they seem fine in the wet.
Just wondering how far you can lean a bike in wet conditions before it all goes wrong? Do tyre companies test this? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Have they not!! Feck!
Well stupid question but to what extent, if your talking sports tyres they will mainly be used on dry tarmac you think?
I've got some Yokohama's on my car but they sure never tested them in the wet because I can turn the steering wheel and the bugger keeps on going straight!!
Just wondering how far and fast you can push tyres in bad conditions before the worst happens? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Think cc123 was being sarcastic mate.
My MT75's can't lean at all in the wet, they spin up off the throttle as well...(on a rs50) They arn't exactly the stickyest of rubber.
Have had a couple of very close calls in the wet, the back slides very easily with hardly any lean. |

I know Shaun was taking the piss and I was being sarcastic!
Just coming into winter, when I know the road is wet I slow down but this week, its been hard to tell if the road is dry, damp or soaking through my visor. On some occasions I've hammered through wet roads and not realised it was THAT wet...
Don't want to come a cropper so was wondering how far you can push? ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

No one can out lean me in the wet!
But then after binning it at about 40mph on my last bike i keep is slow as possible, or even take the carwhen it rains these days
Wet still gives plenty of grip, it's just more irratic. |

Try not to lean the bike in the wet very much. Hang off like a monkey and you can keep the bike more upright.
It does work and inspires more confidence, I lean off (upper body only, not KD position) and push the bars away from my body.

I love wheelspinning...
but it dont half wake you up when they /semi/ grip.
Went up and sideways earlier... funny as fuck but woke me up i tell thee.
And you can lean fuckloads in the wet, long as its stopped raining, you're smooth, and your tyres are warm.
Opening and closing throttle mid corner will have you off mind. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Give loads of lean on wet roads. You find out quickly how much is too much. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
