Big, smooth, comfortable, hi-tech, the list goes on.

And lets face it, the K1200R is pretty feckin' Gucci as well.

Am I in danger of turning into a staid BMW fan?

The sports bike version is definitely nice Palmer, and I actually like the sound of some of the things that the magazines have complained about - strange forks, lack of feedback, etc.

The paintschemes are appalling though, I'd probably have to go with the basic grey one, or look into getting a custom job.

There's a chap that rides something very similar to that down the Bath Road, alongside Heathrow, most mornings. He looks so chilled out, I wouldn't be surprised if he was smoking a pipe and wearing slippers whilst riding the bike!

I think my ideal combination would be a big modern Beemer for long distance/commuting, with a 2nd hand litre bike for days out (ie. Thunderace).
