RS125 LIMITING

Hey, My RS125 seems to get to 12k revs then limits at this and goes no faster, any idea why this is.

Does it have a restrictor or sumthing in it?

maybe your powervalve isnt operating propperly mine wouldnt redline because the cabel wasnt in propperly but sureley going to 12k is enough anyway?

On my old rs125 I couldnt rev past 11k

Cleaned the air filter out and changed the oil to silkolene fully syn reved to 12 dont know if it was supposed to go higher but thats t he highest i could get it.

Hi

It is not designed to rev over 12000rpm. Exhaust design, porting, ignition timing, etc, are all optimised (to an extent) to work over a particular rev range. 2 strokes often have the power fall off rapidly after peak power.

yea at 12 theres no power, i did it the other day by mistake and pulled trottle too much and got a little jerk as it left the powerband at about 12 and no real power there. if you got 154 kit you prob need to up-gear it as sounds like you getting thought the revs too quick.

Bore kits rarely mean more revs. On a two stroke, its such a black art that I wouldn't be surprised if it gave you *less* revs than you had before.

Big bore kits increase torque. If you wanna improve RPM then you need to go lightweight balanced crank, porting etc the whole works.

If you upgear it you can probally take advantage of the extra power.
